You have to have your knife out to kill someone with it in BLOPS 2. No more panic knives.

Well yeah, and example for a good melee is Star Wars: Republic Commando. It's just an animation with hit boxes, CoD has extra stuff applied that ruins the point of a player actually aiming it. It also half the time fails, I know it's been around for most of their games, but it's totally unnecessary.

Some risks being taken, but the fact you can live stream from 360/PS3...INSANE.

          That sounds.........awesome actually.

Dare I say i'm really excited for COD this year? Probably helps that I skipped out on MW3, so this should be fresh anyways. Plus, I LOVE that combat training is back. I spent a lot of time in that in the first Black Ops just screwing around with different loadouts, or when my connection was spotty. Spec Ops didn't do anything for me in MW2, so i'm glad combat training is making a return.

Here is a article explaining how in Black Ops 2 teams playing as a team is the only way to really rank up your score. Kill streaks are gone and replaced with score streaks.

Black Ops 2 is making a strong push towards team play. Read the article for further details.

I was very pleasantly surprise to read this, and this was a major must for the franchise.

Way to go Treyarch this installment of the COD franchise is going to brake sales records.

This game is going to run my XBOX for months

Live streaming is interesting. I like they've replaced kill streaks with a legit score. Hopefully that will lead people to being more team oriented with their strategy.

So then your gun is not a option at the time. NIce move Treyarc!

I hated that panic knife BS. Now do you go through bullets still is the question, or the fact your being shot makes it impossible to stab someone?

Please let this be the case.

Have to say I'm pretty impressed, although livestreaming really isn't feasible for me with my upload speed.

I took a year off CoD for Battlefield, but I might have to come back...

Don't think you need to have a knife out to kill, about 10 sec in you can see the guy using his knife.

Seemed pretty clear to me that he had to take his knife out, kill, then switch back to his gun. You even see him momentarily walking with the knife before striking.

Read the info, watch the videos. You have to select 10 perks. Not sure if a knife is one of those, but you have to have to out to use it. No more panic R3 kills is a good thing....

No offense guys but I think he's right. If he had switched to his knife, the name in the bottom right hand corner would've changed from "Type 25" to knife or something like that.

                            The knife hasn't been fixed.

I sure hope the riot shield is more useful this time around, it had a horrible range of protection in MW3. Based off the video the knife still has extra movement changes added to it...

Here is the truth about the Knife: it still comes out via press of the button. You do not have to have it out to melee an enemy. It will be pulled out (the Combat Knife weapon) if you run out of ammo of any gun(s) you have. So, panic knifing is still a possibility. Buuuuuuut....

They have reduced the lunge range immensely. In all the videos I watched, the player(s) were about 2 for 20 on knife-attempts when at a distance that used to be "lunge-able". Positive steps people.
