He clearly had to switch from the gun though. Because they gun was removed from the HUD, he took two steps and then the knife came out and he stabbed the enemy.

So it wasn't just an instantaneous knife that happens when your gun is still pulled out, which is already a much bigger improvement than any of the previous games.

It also seems that the graphics have a nice polish on them and the sound is much improved, just based on this video.

The guns they are using in that vid look serious too.

Really excited to use the deploy-able riot shield. Going to be great in objective based games like Domination or Demolition.

    Also, hellstorm missle looks crazy!

I think it looks like that because he was sprinting. So his gun was out of the the picture and his knife randomly appeared. To be honest, I don't think the knife was fixed at all, but we'll have to see tomorrow. I'm sure we'll see some knife kills during the live stream tomorrow morning.

It they made it that you must decide to either have your knife out or gun in order to use the weapon. That would be a great addition to the series. I really hope that is exactly what was done, but I dont think so because it would have been mentioned long ago.

Re: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 (Working Title)

The Gamescom stream was awesome. Maps look great, the fact that all gun-effecting perks are gone and turned into attachments is amazing. Hardpoint and Multi-team TDM will also be HUGE. I am really interested in the CODcasting feature, especially the fact that you can take games in theater mode and cast them. Expect some of those on my YouTube channel.

As for the knife, what I said about 4-5 posts above is exactly right. It is still brought out via the click of a button and will only be your 'weapon' if you run out of ammo in the gun(s) you have equipped. As I said, the lunge has been HEAVILY reduced and should make it very balanced.

A "panic knife" isn't when two players are touching johnsons and one decides to shoot and the other to knife. That's using the melee system as it's designed. A "panic knife" is when they are a good distance away from each other and as one player is getting damage on the other, he knifes and get's that unrealistic lunge to a stab where it shows that he took roughly no damage at all. With the reduced lunge distance, this should be cured. For the most part, that is.

Which really has never been a huge problem in Treyarch's games anyway. Its IW that seems to think a combat knife is the length of a baseball bat.

New video of over 50 minutes of multiplayer gameplay enjoy

                <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/f0sQAqXddK0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

In the beginning it looks like the panic knife lives, but fails.

later in the video you see him use the knife attack , but there seems to be zero distance covered with the knife. What I mean it does not automatically lung your character towards the enemy. He just stay right where he was standing when he tried to knife, so I'm very cool with that.

Also, for those who plan to play for PS3, I am hoping to make an OS squad that we can run into the League playlist. I want to hopefully get up there into the higher Leagues and get OS on the map! Closer to launch, I will make a thread but I would love to see a "show of hands", so to speak, on who would be down to play some Competitive CoD.

                  e. It would be awesome with the live-streaming feature to stream our sessions of matches so that others here on OS can watch our progress and see us in action!

I'll probably get this for the PC, so I'll have to go out and find a group... or ride solo...

The videos and info have me sucked in again, I love Black Ops on the 360 and this looks like more of the same with improvements.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

I am on the hype train. Black ops 2 looks phenomenal! I love that they removed pro perks and the perks are not gun centric. The pic 10 system will open up a plethora of new ways to play the game, and everything u do contributes to team play... Wow

I got to pre order today!!!! Definitely looking to run some with my ps3 bretherin!

Between this and 2k13 my social life will suffer lol
