Re: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2

      Looking for some quick opinions.
My son finally got a PS3 and Black ops 2 for Christmas, and I told him I would pick it up when the price is right (he loves zombies)...I was just cruising the net, when I checked out BestBuy and noticed their having a 3 day sale, and Blops2 was one of the games they had disounted.

It is listed on their website for $39.99,I also checked the weekly ad for my location as well just to make sure it wasn't internet only, and sure enough,it's in this weeks ad as well.

So my question is this, for $40 do you think this game is worth it? I really don't care for the actual MP section (maybe will try a few times) but is zombie mode (or whatever it's called and single player) worth 40 bones?
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

If you do not play MP, I dont believe COD is the game for you. I have honestly never played the zombie mode, but I will make a recommendation if you are looking for an incredible FPS single player experience. Far Cry 3 is one of the best games this generation when it comes to the Single Player experience. I have just completed Far Cry 3 and I can say that I am absolutely blown away with everything about the experience. It is an open world, FPS, with incredible graphics and gameplay, and the story and characters that drive it are top notch.

Just a friendly recommendation based on what you said you were looking for. (Zombies aside)

Just get it. Single player gives you multiple play throughs with different decisions. Zombies hasnt changed but if its your flavor its just as fun as previous titles. Your son plays also so its a win win situation.

MP is average at its best but since you arent a die hard cod fan it might suit you. Since its not the deciding factor in buying the game it really cant hurt it if you dont like. And since its COD i dont see it getting much lower than 40.

Thanks, but I already have and beat Far Cry 3. I actually do enjoy the MP in that, but I was just looking at BLOPS as a game I can play with my son.

That was my thinking as well....as long as I get to play with my son,I'm sure it will still be fun for the both of us.
Now hopefully I can get out and get it tomorrow,as we're under a damn storm warning.....we'll see.

                Thanks for the input fellas.

I didn't run into too many Christmas noobs except the first game I played of hardcore CTF, where I promptly went about 75-20. Best gave I have had yet on here.

Played a little bit today, saw a few new players not a whole army of them or anything. Seemed to be like 3-4 each lobby, balanced out by Prestiges.

What I did notice is that a lot more squeekers were on their mics today. :\

I've been watching alot of youtube vids, and it looks as though Domination and Kill confirmed are the 2 modes I will tinker with when I pick up the game.

I probably won't spend a bunch of time in MP,but when I do play,I think I will stay with those 2 modes.

Does anybody else play these modes? and are they as fun as they seem to appear on youtube?

                            Just got it yesterday.

Played a couple of practice games vs the AI yesterday to get used to the maps.

It's annoying how on Hardlined and Veteran, the AI has that lock-on bull**** and knows exactly where you are, before they even see you. But hey, that'll just make it easier for me online.

I've got a good group of buddies who I played Black Ops with, and we had a really solid team put together. Usually ended up playing Ground War because of how many we had, but hey. When you're constantly winning, I don't care what I'm playing.

Hopefully, I can jump right in this year and contribute the same.

This game really only depends on your connection speed. The worse your connection speed is, the better off you are.

I can play at home with the fastest internet availible and suck it up, but go over to my friends house who has the bare basic internet and go 30-3, 30-5 on most games.

To see if it was placebo effect or whatever, I decided to run a torrent in the background while playing and managed to drop my connection speed down to 2 bars and proceeded to pummel people.

So for now, just run intensive programs in the background on your internet connection to drop your speed down and you should be good to go.

You should try Hardpoint it's a new mode that was added to the game. The objective is to capture the Hardpoint and defend it from enemy attack. It's just like Headquarters but respawning is always enabled.
