You don't, I changed swords once and pistols once (at least manually, I know pistol changed once after a mission), and even then there was no discernible difference opposed to previous games. Don't worry too much about money, it's very abundant, I ended up more than 30K (easily) at the end, having bought everything you could without doing any of the homestead trading or selling of hunting proceeds.

I will say that I feel a little more lost in AC3 compared to any of the others in the series. Maybe it's because there are so many new things to do, such as trading and convoys, and I haven't figured out when to do that stuff or certain missions. I didn't mind all the stuff you had to do in the old ones though and I at least was used to it.MLB: Cincinnati Reds

Re: Assassin's Creed III
Those missions are typically the first ones I do. I don't know why. I guess I liked seeing my homestead grow? And maybe I wanted to give myself options for trading whenever that really came into play.

You have to make sure you have the three artisans...the woodworker, the tailor, and the blacksmith. Your options really grow exponentially once you get the blacksmith. I got him in sequence 8 but made lots of money trading pelts until then (if you don't have any good pelts, especially bear pelts, then you can buy them from the huntress and sell them for over twice what you paid)
Do you have naval convoys yet? and do you see the ability to upgrade your convoy capacity?
I love all of the side missions in this game. Im chilling at the beginning of sequence 10 just doing a crapload of side missions in New York, homestead, and the frontier as well as finishing the naval missions (that helps lower the trade risk for your naval convoy and opens up new areas for trade plus the naval missions are awesome). I don't see myself continuing with the main missions for quite a whileLast edited by ZB9; 11-14-2012, 02:13 AM.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed III
How do you upgrade the artisans? I haven't seen a mission for any of them since I finished all the homestead missions but I noticed that they had a level next to their name. Does it just go up if you use them to make stuff?Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed III
For anyone wondering, the encyclopedia has nothing to do with upgrading. I wasted my time trying to record their activities. For all the hours of intro we had to go through you would hope that some of it would explain the new mechanics of the game like leveling the homestead.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed III
You can't upgrade until sequence 10. That's when you get all the remaining Homestead settlers. After that, every mission you do for the Homestead will end with it saying this person can now craft higher level goods.

The lock picking might be one of the most frustrating little tasks I've ever encountered in a video game. Good Lord...MLB: Cincinnati Reds

Again, I'm not intending to be an ***, but lock picking is seriously one of the easiest things in the game. I have yet to not get it on my first try or have it take longer than about 20-30 seconds.Last edited by DickDalewood; 11-15-2012, 09:42 AM.Comment

Not calling you out in particular, but I'm at all understanding this complaint. Move the left analog really slowly in a circle, when it vibrates, hold it there, then do the same with the right analog. Then, hold them both in place and repeatedly hit R1 until the safe opens. Why is this so hard for everyone?

Then, you make tens of thousands of pounds of profit on your shipping.
In addition, shipping to the Virgin Islands and the Bahamas get you crazy profits too.
Also, if you lose a convoy, how do you get another one?? Anybody know?
After AC III, I got the itich to now start playing AC Revelations again, because I never finished it. I see why people say some of the side missions and gameplay was "dumbed down" especially with the city liberation and Mediterrian Defense contracts. Also, I love the Den Defense metagame on there as well.Last edited by cdawg44; 11-15-2012, 10:57 AM."If you have a linebacker on him, you might as well start singing their fight song." -- WSU coach Bill Doba on Reggie Bush

Re: Assassin's Creed III
Yup, just figured it out. You have to craft new ones. Oak lumber plus oak bark with the wood worker makes new convoys. I'm probably gonna just do more naval convoys now since I finished the Privateer contracts."If you have a linebacker on him, you might as well start singing their fight song." -- WSU coach Bill Doba on Reggie Bush

Re: Assassin's Creed III
I understand how it works. The L stick I have no issues with. The R stick part I do. Maybe I don't hold the controller the best way one can. All I know is I've had issues where I'm hitting the R-trigger to break the lock and the pick will keep pulling back causing me to start the R stick part over. Maybe I just need to work on keeping my right thumb a little steadier. Don't know.Comment

Yeah lock picking was easy. Hacking doors in Mass Effect 1 and hacking computers in Deus Ex was way harder.Comment
