As a preorder bonus, BB is doing a steelbook... Curious to know if this is an all-out separate cover or instead of Cyberpunk box we get this steelbook box instead with the game in it?
I originally had a preorder with BestBuy.

I cancelled it a few days ago though. The steelbook is nice, but I'd rather have my games on Steam. More convenient library, and the steam workshop makes adding mods super easy. I guess this is only relevant if you're on PC though.

It's a free update with the release version, so you don't need to buy a different version in the future if that's what you're asking. But yeah you could wait until news drops that they did the update to buy. I'll be grabbing it when my city stops the lockdown since my ebgames I preordered is closed for the next 3-4 weeks!

Ok I may look and see what the Preorder bonuses are for digital and buy it but not play it till they do the next gen upgrade.

          Re: Cyberpunk 2077

Watched a couple of leaked videos and streets look pretty empty. I will wait a few weeks before considering paying full price for this. I am much more into open world games set in living breathing cities, than I am into RPG, so we'll see how well this game fits my preference.

Edit: seeing a bit of traffic, but the street look nowhere near living breathing compared to the official gameplay videos. Looks like CDPR pulled a Ubisoft. Waiting to see how things look post launch.

Were they clips from the PS4 version? That would be one thing, but if the PC version had a dead city then that is troubling.

Every clip I've seen the city has been very empty. There are NPCs but I'd say it was at worst fewer than GTA V at best the same amount you might see in a busy RDR2 city. All the clips I've seen have been the console versions though.

I know nothing about this game but I do know that they are the same people who made The Witcher 3 so it must be good right? Keeping my fingers crossed.

It's not coming out right away for either PS5 or Series X, although the previous gen versions will be playable on the new consoles (and there will be patches to optimize them for the next gen consoles). The previous gen versions won't be using the full capability of the new systems, however.

Surprisingly luke warm reviews at moment. I still cant wait.

Haven't read game reviews in quite some time, is there now a mandatory section about "Diversity" in every review? lol.

The interesting thing I took from the reviews I have read is that how side quests are resolved has a major impact in how the main story finishes (which is fairly short at 20 hours) and there are at least six or seven different endings. That's pretty ground breaking if correct. Most side quests have zero impact on the main story with the exception of unlocking new weapons, traits and levels that can be used to help finish the main story.

I can see from some of the reviews I have read that this game might be held to a different standard than other games. One review I read complained that there was nothing new that hadn't been in done other games. Maybe they're expecting it to be like GTA III which redefined open world games. I'm just looking for a rollicking good time and a memorable experience rather than re-inventing the wheel.
