Was going mostly run and gun build.. investing into body and guns, but recently switched up to tech and hacking. Just a spatter of everything I guess now.

      Re: Cyberpunk 2077

The night and day difference in those screen shots above from what I see on my PS4 Pro is stark.

They should have never released this game for current gen. It looks ridiculously amateur compared to that. And When you compare it visually to games I have mentioned before (RDR2, Horizon, TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima) It is crazy they released it in this state for PS4.

Feels like slight deception in a way.

Game is good......nothing like those screen shots though. And quite frankly there is nothing groundbreaking at all in terms of gameplay, controls, options, conversation consequence....nothing. Story is good...nothing OMG. Characters are good...again nothing really stands out at all.

      I maintain the 6/10 rating.

I am going to finish up the main story.......and shelve it. I have far better games to get to than invest more than 30-40 hours into this game on the PS4 Pro. Not worth the time investment to me personally.

I have Ghost of Tsushima starting at me now. That is a brilliant game from everything I have seen. My brother in-Law showed me his current play through yesterday and I was blown away how gorgeous it was and how sweet the combat is.

I guess in a couple of years when I make the move to the PS5 I can replay this again and enjoy it more since the visuals will be on another level. As of now.....it is seriously lacking. This kind of setting actually demands far better eye candy.

It’s funny.....I can go and play Skyrim and totally love it as always....and it is vastly better on it’s remaster for the PS4 than this release.

      That tells me a lot.

That’s exactly the problem with cyberpunk. I keep hearing how it’s not the developers fault that the game runs like crap on current gen. I would understand that if there were so so so many beautiful games on current gen. This has also been in development years before next gen came out. Then add in the shady non showing of current gen everything and it’s all inexcusable in my opinion. Now I own both a ps5 and series x so it’s not personally affecting me but the execution and practices this company has made seem very shady to me.

          .

I think that is the bigger problem, even though I am still early the actual RPG elements have added nothing, and it seems in many cases, done much worse than previous games. I am holding judgment as I have not made it far, but even that is a tell. I have been pumped for this game since they announced it, and quite frankly don't have much urge to pop on and rip a huge session. I actually find myself playing MOH VR more.

I already shelved it. Moving on (Sniper Elite 4 then Ghost of Tsushima).

I will play this again in a year or two after I move on to the PS5.

This game simply is not that good. I have had zero urge like you to play for long extended periods. Game feels like a chore.

That was my cue to shelve it. It is simply not much fun at all. I tried so hard to get into it. Th story is cool....but everything else is simply....one giant "Meh"

I wish CDPR didn't label everything as a bug. They are going with the "It's just a bug, it will be fixed" just a little bit too far. But I guess we will have to wait and see.

They just say "most believable city", no word about "with the most realistic NPC behavior/routines".

And "they promised" is a bit different from "this is WIP and may change". Well, the expectation again...

If you played the Witcher series and not just The Witcher 3, you wouldn't exactly be surprised by this launch. The first two Witcher games had plenty of issues. It's no surprise they had issues trying something completely new. They struggled with the first Witcher game big time.

They say : "All living their lives with a full day-night cycle". You can make what you want of it but they did promise NPCs with daily routines, living their lives. It's not an expectation, it's a quote from the developer.

Maybe it's time CDPR change the way the develop and market their games. The model of "Pay now for the greatest product and we'll fix it in a year or two" just doesn't make sense. Sadly, I have no doubt it will be the same with their next product.

I’m confused. Are you saying when they say most believable city it’s not including the brain dead npcs or police that spawn on top of you within that “believable” city?

I am saying that NPC living their daily lives is not included when all NPCs do is walk aimlessly or just popping up and disappear. Brain-dead AI is just another nice surprise for a 2020 game.

Nothing about what I am saying, it's all about the developer promising things that are not there.

As for my opinion, it's that the game's standards for open world/AI/NPC are very low for a 2020 game, regardless of CDPR's ridiculous promises. I guess we will have to wait and see if 50 patches down the road the game will be closer to what was promised.

It's too bad because I love the vehicle design, it's one of the best things about this game. Simulation-based vehicle damage is another feature promised I am not so sure about, but that's for another thread.

Oh I agree with you. It wasn’t you I was quoting. I think it’s a very valid gripe to have and not a case of too lofty expectations or anything like that. The AI is fairly atrocious and lazily programmed which is a huge letdown for any rpg let alone one developed for 7+ years or so.
