I also don't like it at all that the game was released like this for last-gen. However, as is often the case these days, the problem is not with the developers. It was clear to them that the game would have problems on these consoles, but financial reasons, pressure from shareholders because of the Christmas business, made the management decide differently.
I also hope that there will be consequences, from which perhaps other companies will learn that you should not release a game too early.

So far in story I dig the environment, but everything else in the game is really just average at best imo. It doesn't do anything amazingly well so far other than story telling. The AI isn earthshaking, the driving is horrid, damage models are from 2005 , the world while big is pretty bland when realization is that the mirage is just the amount of models on screen and not that the models do anything special and that the voice lines really have no impact they're just there with no interaction.

Dialogue so far seems to be predetermined, while you have choices , you basically cycle through every choice by the end of the conversation. Just from the opening sequence, Jackie's hands don't even move correctly to how the car is driving. Then later in sequences you can literally be shooting bullets into an enemy and there be no register whatsoever, I thought it was an aim bug or something to them come to realization that it allowed me to shoot the gun knowing there would be no register or bullet holes or anything.

My warning or advice to anyone on the fence is that it's worth it on PC and worth a playthrough but go in harnessing expectations that the gameplay is going to be an evolution to games because it's going to be a little better than what Skyrim accomplished, but provide less as far as detail than games like RDR or GTA accomplish from an open world aspect.

    I think it's definitely a solid 7-7.5 overall
It's not GTA and doesn't want to be. GTA's first person gunplay is crap. GTA has no crafting system. And so on. It is also not Skyrim.
Here again expectations play into it, which the game doesn't want to fulfill at all.

Agreed and not fulfilling the least of expectations is pretty evident especially for the current gen owners.

In all seriousness, expectations are part of consumer purchasing habits. To some degree It's why one chooses to buy or not.

For me on PC I bought it expecting to be a serviceable RPG that looked good and in an interesting environment. That's the expectation I had for purchasing. I think it does that, and my point is that I don't believe there's much more to the game when looking at different elements and where they don't perform on some of basics I would expect in a game in 2020. Which is why my suggestion was just that, one should tamper their expectations going in if they're expecting some ground breaking development or gameplay feature from this game.

Amen to this. I'm seeing so, so many videos on YouTube about GTA vs Cyberpunk and I'm already tired of it. Cyberpunk is not meant to be a game where you drive through crowds of people on the sidewalk, go on random shooting sprees or blow or rob random gas stations. Its the same as The Witcher in regards to NPCs. They are there to be aesthetic and be part of the world around you. You're not meant to interact intimately with every NCP and should expect to. In Skyrim you can interact with pretty much every NPC but what do you get? Very low city population as a result. I'd rather have crowded cities where I don't interact with everyone, like in real life. There's no doubt that GTA's AI for NPC's is better. But like it's been stated above, this is an RPG, and it's different than GTA. While they're both set in large cities, they're very different games.

I am into the story. As long as that holds me....I will continue playing. And so far the side missions have been solid.

I did expect a lot more graphically knowing how amazing some games have been this gen.

That part has been very underwhelming.

The next two big patches are directly graphic related. I was hoping for better graphics as well.

One of the main reasons I went ahead and moved forward on my PC build. Graphically the game is amazing on PC.

People saying there's no decision making in this game is ridiculous. I've had at least 4-6 side quests I've reloaded my save on to have a different outcome. PLUS at least 2-3 I just went with the outcome even though I could have reloaded and changed it.

There are still side missions open on very difficult, so I do not understand why they let the main story end now. Very weak for an RPG somehow
I finished the game and HATED the story! Probably the weakest RPG story I have played and I am mostly a sports gamer so I only play the real big RPG games.

13M copies sold after refunds in 10 days. Nice!!!

Since I don't have any console at the moment, there's no way for me to play it but even if I did, I would be waiting for the next gen upgrade in 2021 before jumping in especially after seeing four different aspects of Ray Tracing being used for PC.

My friend is currently playing it on PS5 and is around 70 hours into the game. He's currently looking at a 9.5/10 overall with Visuals, audio and story/characters being a 10/10 with gameplay/combat and optional side content being a 9/10.

He's had a crash every 5 or so hours but other than that, no real issues. His biggest complaint is that the AI isn't good. He's also someone who played maybe a few hours of The Witcher 3 but it's not for him and he's not a huge fan of CDPR but he knows that they're easily a top 5 developer.

Very much looking forward to playing it myself when the upgrade arrives for Series X.

CDPR promised the most believable city with the most realistic NPC behavior/routines. From everything I have seen, what they actually released is a game with 2001 NPC system...well maybe even worse...

Has anything improved in the NPC department with updates so far?

They did say it's a bug. One of the patches is suppose to fix it. Cops dont chase in vehicles, but there's videos of people being chased by cops in their cars. So that definitely seems like a bug.
