For real. At first I was let down by the trailer, but everything that has been said so far, along with that teaser of the city they posted, this game has crazy potential.

no 3rd person no interest and they are answering the questions as to why as if we are stupid and dont know what immersion is

        they can go kick rocks

Here is there excerpt if your wondering where i get that i feel slighted by them

"First and foremost, I really enjoy all the attention the subject is getting, because it's important. This has been an educated decision. The first-person point of view is there so you can see things happening up close, and so you can really interact with things in a visceral manner. with the game world." He continued. "It worked out well with our exploration of the genre."

Hope the game fails because it's FPS? That's a bit extreme.

I'm still excited. Honestly CD Projekt has garnered a lot of good will with me between Witcher 2 and 3. I would be supporting this even if it was Geralt reading the phone book.

They proved in The Witcher 3 they can craft an amazing world and fill it with interesting characters and organic narratives. First person vs third person is a moot point when considering the strengths they showed in that game.

Plus, the possibility of Ciri maybe making a cameo is intriguing to me.

Witcher 3 is one of the greatest games ever, but I had to tap out after like 40 hours because I simply hated the combat/movement. Like most people I would imagine, the possibility that CP 2077 would be a first person game wasn't even a consideration, but I am stoked.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Yep, the movement sucked. No 2 ways about it.

I can't believe the E tantrums people are having over a video game. Unreal. They hope it fails because the studio did not consult with them on how the game should be made?

Fallout did pretty well in first person. I would rather play this game in first person than play another clunky game like the witcher. My main hope is that this game feels good and has really good shooting mechanics. Still personally excited for the release.

The negative crowd is just the vocal minority.

I understand there are gamers that don't like FPS but this was the developer's decision and it's explained pretty well. It's what they think works best.

I really think anyone expecting this to be Witcher with a Cyberpunk theme is going to be very disappointed. Nothing about what I've read or seen indicates the developer is copying and pasting their earlier work.

Isn't innovation what we desire as gamers? And CDP is innovating and taking a leap with a game based on a board game unlike one that was based on novels. Different approach.

But we should not question their passion and dedication to create a solid title. They've proven how much they care about gamers.

Even if I end up disliking Cyperpunk, I guarantee it will be personal preference over the game being incomplete, buggy or terrible.

                    re: Cyberpunk 2077

Honestly can't believe how whiny a few people are about this being first person. Like, I realize that the Witcher had a 3rd person camera, but that really isn't the only way to make an immersive experience. In many ways the FPV does more for immersion since it does actually put you into the body of the character you're playing. Either view can work if the game is right. Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Farcry, and Mirrors Edge are just a few of the very popular titles in this genre with FPV.

I think the 3rd person view of the Witcher series was great for a melee combat game. In general though I prefer FPS vs. over the shoulder views when it comes to ranged combat like Cyberpunk will have (guns).

I don't mind it being a FPS as long as there is the heavy story and RPG elements that The Witcher 3 had. Aside from the trailer and info from the behind closed doors showcase I've seen almost nothing of the game or how it'll play.

From accounts by the few who were invited to see about an hour or so of gameplay, they are coming away blown away.

I don't think that is what people are expecting or are excited about. I think it has more to do with the level of quality we've come to expect out of their games.

That's pretty short sighted when you consider it's just the location of the camera. Far more comes into justifying if a game is quality or not, but writing it off just because of one small nugget of information seems emotional over rational, which is never a good way to analyze things.

Hoping CD Project fails???Come on man..CD Project has been good to their fanbase for many years. I think they have earned some good faith....
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I'm a huge fan of these guys. When I cracked open my copy of The Witcher 3 a few years ago and found stickers, a soundtrack for the game on disk and a thank you note to the consumer I was so shocked by that small attention to detail that's sort of a lost art now.

Wishing a game would fail is pretty stupid. I hate Fortnite and it's band of crazies, but I don't go around wishing they would fail. Unless they attacked you personally or did you some sort of disservice it's petty. There are too many good games and consoles to be a grumpy gus about it.
