    Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist

I've got all of the Splinter Cell games. I already have this one pre-ordered. The return of "ghosting" and spies vs mercs was a must though, we've been giving the devs at the ubi forums hell since the announcement of conviction and finally they listened. Now if only we can get Ghost Recon back on track.

Oh tell me about it Ghost Recon, Thunder Island, and Desert Siege were the best ghost recons ever. Why they deviated from that is so baffling, well not really because big corporate entities want to pump out mind numbing replicas of Call of Duty.

Do like me and transfer over to the ARMA, ARMA2 and soon to be ARMA 3 for your realistic war experience. Plus it features head tracking so it truly is a "experience".

Take a stroll over to the Ubi forums...we all share the same sentiment. It's the new dollar ubi was after with Future soldier. Even though I bought the game, I and many other vets let them hear it loud and clear. The younger generation seems ok with some new maps and guns and simply the ability to get kill streaks where as Ghost Recon has always been about strategy and team work. They've made a mockery out of what used to be a proud franchise. But there's still hope. Future soldier's online play is so dead that Ubi can't even hold decent community events anymore so we'll just have to wait and see what the future holds.

BTW it was Island Thunder...I know semantics....lol

(damn I corrected you and still got it wrong...der...lol)

I keep hearing about Arma and reading about the Dayz mods....wish it were for consoles. i hate pc gaming. Other's are recommending Operation Flashpoint DR (had a cult following on the original xbox that I was a part of), but since they removed my over the shoulder camera I can't play that game either (hate fps).

          I know

I created one of the high downloaded mods at the time of Ghost recon. It was a realism mod that featured 100 new weapons with real weapon sounds, realistic night vision, and more realistic bullet and blood effects.

I spent literally hundreds of hours 3d modeling and skinning weapons at that time. I was also heavily involved in the ladder battles at that time.

Wow that was the good ol days lol

I don't wanna derail the thread so I'm going to stop here but read post #75 in this thread.

I ran with JAG for a long time also. I only played on PC though. I can't remember all the clans I ran with, but I think another was :TAG:

I also followed JAG over to Red Orchestra for a while too. Then when the first Call of Duty modern warfare came out I ran with a clan that created the Tactical Realism Mod. I'm drawing a blank of their name now though. It might be the 82 airborne clan, oh wait I know now. It was 7th Cav! Great group of guys and extreme realism.

What the release date of August 20, 2013 says about the next gen consoles.

Seriously? I'm literally going to have to force myself not to buy games over the next few months... there have to be at least ten must-haves starting February through May.
