Got my shipping notice from Kmart (they had a preorder points back deal). UPS tracking shows Wednesday delivery and right now my game is in Chicago.

      Re: Watch Dogs

I'm going to pre-order this today. Still debating on which system to get it on between PS4 and XB1. I feel like I buy all my games on PS4 and i need something, anything, to play on my xbox. I may lean that way but it seems like most people are going with ps4, which, I can see why. Either way I'm sure i won't be disappointed. Ps4 has that extra hour of gameplay though….hmm.

        Watch Dogs

Was only able to get maybe a half hour into this but man is this game a breathe of fresh air for me. No doubt for me it's a different kind of game and I mean that in a good way.

Graphics are fine to me. Some have said last gen graphics but I would disagree.

Between the 3 games in my rotation right now this, Wolfenstein and The Show it's gonna be a nice Mon/Tues off. Gotta take the wife to see Xmen @ 7pm and after that "It's On!!!

My early thoughts was this game would be very much like Sleeping Dogs and of course the GTA series. How does this game differentiate from those, if you don't mind me asking?

gonna ask this again for those that have played the game.

How is the A.I? I've read that the A.I is pretty dumb...hopefully those of you with the game can shed some light on this...thanks again

Really hope you get an answer or seven. I am very anxious to hear impressions from OS gamers on this regard. Won't change my purchase either way, but the lack of a response so far scares me.

I've heard A.I. was a bright spot for the game. But that was from outside sources. Curious to see OS opinions as well. The individual life profiles the civilians have seem to make the game better. Everyone's a different person and are actually doing things instead of walking doing nothing.

@franch1se i'd recommend getting it on PS4 simply for the extra 60 minutes of gameplay. Get UFC on Xbox One.

Fellows I will be on around 11-12 est. and should hit it for a few hours.

I did notice that it was pretty easy for me to sneak up on guards for a takedown on "Normal". There is a setting for "Realistic" that is an option. Gonna mess with that. I will try to answer some of the basic questions. As far as comparing it to Sleeping Dogs I didn't play that game

Looks a lot better than GTA V and im sure most will agree

I haven't stayed caught up on all this game has to offer. All I know is that I'm getting it. Is this a sandbox type game like GTA? Can I just wander the game world?

                            This sounds promising.....

The gun-play and combat mechanics in Watch Dogs is fairly similar to the Ghost Recon franchise and that’s not a bad thing. Enemies behave intelligently and they’ll use cover, will call in reinforcements or strategize to flank your position. If you think you can duck in a corner and take on an army, then you’ll end up with a face full of lead. We’re not ashamed to admit that we died several times during a fire-fight and the best strategy thus far seems to be taking cover and quickly getting back on your heels.

                            BOTTOM LINE
For a game that's seen numerous delays and set-backs, Watch Dogs offers a whole lot of value, gameplay and graphics. And then some more...

                                Re: Watch Dogs

I'll see what I can answer.

Have a total of about 10 hours in to the game.

Enemies behave intelligently for the most part. You will get the occasional one that is trying to flank and jumps out into your line of fire, but they are definitely working as a group most of the time to get you into a disadvantageous position.

The way the skill tree works for me is very smart. They have a Skill Tree and a Progression Tree. Skill tree is unlockable skills via Skill Points you get from XP. There are broken into Driving, Combat, Hacking, and Crafted Items. The Progression Tree gives you more perks/unlockable weapons/unlockable vehicles/extra Skills to unlock on the Skill Tree.

I can't tell you enough how much fun the online component is. There are 6 (???) different 'Online Contract' types:
                                1. Hacking - You have to hack another user. You are skinned as an NPC and once you initiate the scan, you have a diameter of the city you need to stay inside. The other users job is to first profile you, then kill you. The key here is to hack
                                2. Racing - Straight forward. Either an A to B race, or a circuit race with multiple laps. Tons of shortcuts, hacking is enabled. I've done motorcyle races, and multiple class of car racing.
                                3. Online Decryption - 3-8 people. You 'download' a file by being close to it. The file starts to decrypt. If another user steals it from you (by killing you or being within a certain range of you for a set amount of time) the user takes over from the percentage you got the file to. When the file gets to 100%, whoever has the highest percentage of encryption wins. Top 3 placers get points.
                                4. Tailing - You have to identify another user and observe him wihtout being spotted. Like hacking, but I'm not fully aware if the other user can tell you are there.
                                5. Free Roam - Haven't played it yet, but I am guessing it is just normal gameplay with multiple people.
                                6. ctOS Mobile - Haven't played it yet, as the mobile app isn't out yet

Online gets you regular experience, and 'Notoriety' points. These unlock separate perks for online (I think 5 or 6 in total)

Driving seems much more realistic than GTA. Different cars have different weights. You try to hand brake around a corner with a muscle car, and the back end is going to swing out further than with the performance cars. Makes racing more fun to me, but some may be turned off by the lower end cars.

There is a ton of side stuff to do, and it feels varied enough (so far) to keep things going. The game features good gun play with the creativity of hacking the city with your phone. These sand box games are normally not my cup of tea (as I mentioned before with GTA) but I've really enjoyed my time so far with Watch Dogs.
