I'm having fun with it, it's exactly what you'd expect from a Saints Row game with its over the top everything. The super powers are alright, the enemies seem a little stiffer competition then I remember this series having.

I gave in and bought it. Sadly. I'm not far in at this point, but overall the premise is so horribly moronic that it's hard to get into it for me. I literally played like an hour and haven't gone back now. Old Saints Row I'd played for days on end (SR1 / SR2, and even SR3 to some extent). They've just taken the game in a direction I can't seem to follow or enjoy.

Look up a couple of posts and use the no superpowers and no warden cheats. And if you're on the PC wait a couple of days until the mod to flip the aliens for gangs comes out.

The GI review (which liked the game overall) actually had this same feeling. Said it kind of sucked that super powers had that affect though they like the powers too.

Didn't M$ put out a sandbox game where you basically had super powers? Crackdown or something along those lines? I played the first one.... never got to the 2nd one.

Eh, I rented it and I'm happy that I didn't buy it. It isn't boring, but it's not something I could play for a long time each session. Just not in my interests.

I'm early in the game, but I want to say the super jump is required to complete some missions....could be wrong.

I rented the game...good rental, honestly very entertaining...but I already want to throw in a few codes and just cause havoc rather than play through..

You'd need them if there was a warden in a mission (assuming the warden cheat only takes them out of free roam) but otherwise I don't see why not,there's still flying vehicles available so there shouldn't be any problems...but I haven't played it either so...

Hoping around collecting items really reminds me of Crackdown, and the 'I'm in a simulation' is so Matrix it's not even funny. They have simulations to train you, and then to beat the Wardens, you jump into them to kill them. Ughh.... this game was so phoned in.

They deliberately did that. It's meant to look like its ripping off the Matrix and Mass Effect.

I enjoy it. Having fun just jumping around and gliding and running full speed.

If people want a serious game, they aren't going to like this. To me, the completely over the top weapons and story are just wacky fun. I'm not sure I want to do all the side missions, but I like the mix of saint's row and infamous and Tron.

Agreed, it's just not Saints Row. They really should have started a new franchise with SR3.
