Keep My Xbox or go for the PS2?

Okay guys, I need your opinions, advice, etc.

I have been wavering on whether to keep my Xbox or pick up a PS2. As I do not have broadband, I am not on Xbox live. If I was on XBL, my time at home would not allow for much online play. Therefore, let's just say that online play is not a major factor.

I am first a sports game player...but the library of the PS2 is just overwhelming. I miss games like WOO, HSG3, Winning Eleven, etc. I am not "up" on what is ahead for the PS2 and Xbox in terms of games.

I just don't know what to do. I don't want to do anything impulsively. Please chime in with some advice.

If you're a sports gamer first, stick with the XBOX. The graphics are just a tad bit better and smoother on the XBOX. Plus loading times and memory cards is an issue for the PS2. The memory especially. 2 EA games can fill you;re entire PS2 memory card. So you'd have to pay to much attention to it with other games.

Yes, PS2s library is extensive but the XBOX does'nt have a bad set also. I dont know though. I have both and I would say that I spend more time with the XBOX than the PS2, but thats all subject to change at any moment.

I'm with Graphik, I have both, and prefer the Xbox over the PS2. However, it is nice to have the PS2 for games like WE6, Smackdown, and other PS2 only games. I much prefer the Xbox for sports games, but I also play a lot on Live. Honestly, I'd suggest just saving enough till you can buy a PS2 to go with the Xbox, doubt it'd be the best idea to just get rid of the Xbox.

Re: Keep My Xbox or go for the PS2?

I have a PS2 and after GTA came to the Xbox I pretty much felt a similar trend would happen with most "exclusive" PS2 titles. I now regret purchasing the PS2 as I have to shell out money for a memory card and buy a tap so I can have more than two players playing sports games. The only positives I can think of right now are the DVD player and the controller. Well I already have two DVD players laying around the house and there is an S controller for the Xbox so...

BTW I don't own an Xbox just to clear things up.

I would definitely stick with the XBOX. If online play isn't a factor (and probably even if it was), XBOX is looking pretty good right now in almost all aspects. Graphics, controller, hard-drive....As for your biggest concern, game library, I'd also stick with the XBOX. I'm not going to list tons of examples, but this holiday season is starting to look like the beginning of a great time for XBOX players. It finally seems like there are alot of very good XBOX games coming out, instead of a few good ones and a lot of mediocre ones - I can't think of that many great or highly anticipated games that will not be on XBOX. And as a sports gamer, you're definitely fine in that area with sticking with the XBOX. I think PS2 would be a waste of money at this point - I'm not knocking the PS2 entirely, but I think you'd find that you'd still be spending most of your gaming time and money on the XBOX even if you had it.
