I wondered why I was running out of ammo so quickly.

      Yes and no.

No in the sense that when you're out there, you don't ditch magazines when you reload. You'd still have those rounds, it would just be a clip of 5-15 (depending on when you took it out if not empty.)

It's more unrealistic that these clips hold 30 rounds, haha.

The PC beta has been a buggy mess for me. Low FPS and spikes, constant freezing on the loading screen, hitbox issues, and random CTD's. I was optimistic for the game but it's beta makes the BF3 beta look rock stable. I remember it took almost 3 months after release to fix all the problems in the beta that BF3 had. I'm probably going to hold off buying this till these issues are fixed.

Take in mind, that the beta is just the beta and a older build of the actual game, so when oct 29 comes im sure you'll change your mind once u start watching some videos and can't hold off any longer.

The beta is available on Xbox Live for non-premium players.

Not a glitch, its the new reload mechanic. Also remember when you(in BF3) start to reload and then panic switch to the pistol when an enemy comes out of no where? Well when you start the reload animation you wont have to do it all over again once the mag is placed in, the animation will now start automatically when you switch back to the primary. Couldn't tell you how many times that got me killed because I thought it had reloaded afte switching only to find out it didn't because the animation never finished.

              Pretty cool/useful.

I am not impressed by the beta one bit....hate the thermal kill view and the health packs look weird. Hate using circle to crouch

Ah well that is kind of disappointing. Guess I need to get out of the habit of reloading strictly when I have time. I'll just be draining my magazines from now on. Although it is good to hear about the weapon switching fix.

You can use the 'Veteran' button layout to return R3 crouch and O melee. As for the health pack, I haven't even seen what it looks like. It vanishes whenever people throw it out at me.

The veteran layout is closer to the BF3 controls, but the knife button is different and the spot button is different. I really don't like the spot button on the R2 on Xbox. 1- I can't get used to it. 2- It doesn't seem like it works that well. Sometimes it brings up another menu.

I hope when it comes out on the next gen consoles you will be able to customize the buttons or it has a BF3 option, etc. I'm sure I would eventually get used to it, but I kind of like being able to use my left hand to spot, my right hand is already pushing a lot of buttons.

Having the spot on the RB also ruins how I use vehicles. I can't adjust to using left stick to throttle and brake. I much prefer the triggers for that. I'm not comfortable with the controls just yet, but since spot is stuck on the bumpers, if I were to switch to the triggers for gas/brake. How would I then go to use smoke? I loved having the triggers to control my speed, RB to fire and LB for gadgets. That control layout was lefty alternate I believe on BF3.

I had no problems running the PC Beta, but it was fairly underwhelming. Not that it feels like a bad game, but it doesn't feel amazing either, it's drifting towards the middle for me. I doubt I'll buy it.

I've also had problems getting into battlefield post BF2 so that's just me.

I kinda felt the same way. FOr whatever reason, the Beta doesn't feel as "alive" as BF3 was and is to me. Maybe it's cause it's the beta, but I mean, I'm in a game with 64 players, and it doesn't feel as there is as much going on as in BF3.

That's how I'm starting to feel as well. However, I want a different map to compare it to like BF3 Metro vs Caspian Border. I hated Metro but loved Caspian Border. Right now, it doesnt totally feel like a Battlefield game for me.

I walked away very underwhelmed after playing it. It feels very un-battlefield like and it appears to have swung more into the call of duty look and feel. I guess I was expecting more of what we already had in BF3.
