I don't get why people complain about snipers so much. If someone is sniping at me (and don't kill me on their first shot), I know how to move to avoid being sniped. They only get me if they're really good or get lucky once in a while. If I'm sniping, I can usually pick them off once I notice where they are

I hate useless people who snipe. How anyone can sit in one spot on top of a building away from the action the whole game and just look through a scope and feel that is fun is beyond me .


To each his own tho. There are some who actually do help tho but like 80% ive encountered dont

Having a few snipers can be a big boost, as long as they're spotting enemies. It can become a problem if half the team is sniping and there is nobody left to actually play the objective though.

It'd be cool to see a game mode that limits the amount of snipers per team, i.e. AA2. But I don't expect to ever see that in a battlefield game.

I've been saying that since battlefield 1942, snipers are essentially useless in video games but even more so in Battlefield. If I need to go long range, I go with a DMR. So I won't get headshots across the map but i can actually be useful to my team in taking points.

I personally don't see a problem with people playing how they want to. I do understand how it affects the team negatively if too many guys are sniping though.

For the record, when I snipe I do it at more of a medium range than super long range like some people. I spot people just before I shoot, so if I miss my team knows where they are. And I usually roll with canted ironsights as well as my longer scope so I can get a person or 2 at short range near an objective.

And someone else mentioned DMRs. Absolutely love playing with DMRs on more open maps. Battlefield 4 is great. There are so many weapons to choose from, and I have to play very different with each class in order to succeed.

I totally agree with you man. Its useless hands down that someone wants to sit on a hill or building for 20+ minutes the maps in BF are so big choose an actual class and get into the fight!!

Exactly.

The class isn't called sniper. It's called recon for a reason and it's why they let you pick other weapons. If you're sitting in some remote part of the map picking off random people, you're doing nothing for your team. Sure, you're getting some kills but you could be doing so much more.

I call it garbage recon because that's what it is.

Picked this up over the weekend and I have been having an absolute blast with it! Ive played Battlefield style games over the years (Bad Company, Medal of Honor, etc) and feel right at home. I think the spotting feature is one my favorite aspects. Im not always the quickest on the trigger or have the best aim but still have the chance to be towards the top of the leaderboard because I go for objectives, spot, revive, etc. Definitely a fun game! Just gotta brush up on those flying skills...

I never snipe, that was until I watched American Snier this past weekend. I decided to give it a try. It was fun, I got picked off quite a bit also though. Back to the engineer.

Wow...you guys aren't kidding. Playing on PS4 for first time in a while...the mass camping sniperfest is real.

Normally it's whatever and if they kill me while hiding while I PTFO I deal. But it's extremely extremely bad right now.

I think the reason there's so many snipers is the game is real cheap right now so there's a mass of young children.

When I need to thin the snipers out I'll check my map frequently and catch them while there shooting. Then I'll hop in a tank and go crazy.
