    Re: Battlefield 4

Can anyone use their ps3 controller on the PC version? None of the axis' or buttons work in-game. I can see the controls works in the game controller settings in the PC device setup, but nothing works in bf4 beta. Do I have to use my Xbox 360 controller instead? Please help!

    Thanks in advance!

If you dare use a controller on a PC FPS, you will be destroyed. Too much accuracy in a mouse, no matter how good you are with a controller, you will not have fun.

Wow really? Is it that bad? This would be my first FPS on a PC. Using the keyboard will take a while for me to get used to.

With what little time I spent with BF3 on the PC, I didn't find this to be true at all.

Mastering the mouse/keyboard is the optimal way to play, but I didn't feel any sort of handicap at all.

A wired 360 controller is the best option I believe.

I guess what I mean is:

I can point my gun anywhere I want about 3-5x as fast as you can with a controller and be accurate.

In counter strike 1.3 or games solely around the PC this is true.

It has been proven false time and time again in games like battlefield/cod made for the masses and heavily influenced by the consoles.

You act like a controller doesn't have sensitivity settings and the hit boxes are tiny.

I'm as "PC Master Race" as they come and I know this unequivocally false statement gets thrown out too much because it used to be true but it isn't anymore.

Ok thanks for that info. Since my PS3 controller doesnt work with the beta i guess i'll get that receiver for my Xbox controller.

                    Thanks again!

Maybe it's me, or not unlocking the second sniper rifle, but sniping seems lackluster. Tons of engies flying around the map with PP2000's.

Well when you start the reload animation you wont have to do it all over again once the mag is placed in, the animation will now start automatically when you switch back to the primary. Couldn't tell you how many times that got me killed because I thought it had reloaded afte switching only to find out it didn't because the animation never finished.

                        Pretty cool/useful.
It's a glitch when manually reloading with the shotgun, I kept wondering how in the world I was running out of ammo so quickly. I start with 7 rounds in the clip and around 20 something in reserve...I reload once and all of a sudden I have nothing in reserve..literally was going to 7 in chamber and nothing in reserve constantly after one manual reload.

I know we have all messed with it individually, but does anyone want to try to join up and play some of the Beta sometime.. either PS3 or 360 ?

I played a minute or two with Jnes once, but my headset was charging and then I froze up and got booted

Wouldn't mind trying to play it with some OSers.

Finally gave the beta a whirl on PC. My laptop runs BF3 on ultra/high at a steady 60 fps but even on low I get a lot of stuttering and low fps in this beta. I updated my drivers and it helped a little. I had the same problem with BFBC2 and BF3 in the beta so I'm hoping for a marked improvement by release.

If you say so. Each his own. Also when throwing out statements like you did, you need facts. I bet I am on the PC and have been as long as you so your opinion is not a fact lol. FYI, battlefield is actually a PC game before anything. Always has been.

Excited to see this on PS4. Little over a month to go!

The console popularity has had a huge impact on the development of Battlefield games since Battlefield Bad Company 2.

Battlefield 3's console support was and is still awesome. They aren't being shortened of anything that the console's can actually handle.

DICE has no choice, but to put as much effort and energy into the console versions of their games now.
