You know what I don't appreciate is the attitude. I do play the objective but some people get so bent out of shape when you actually use the AA for exactly what its designed to do. I protected both objectives near me with my secondary weapon while pushing off anything in the air.

That is exactly how you use the AA, hang back, keep the air clear and defend the two closest objectives.

Plus another advantage of the AA is that it frequently becomes the target rather than the objective, so not only am I playing the objective but I'm keeping the enemy from playing theirs

Not something I would ever do in a tank or anti-infantry but its exactly how you capitalize on what the AA was designed to do.

The main weapon of the AA, The Active Radar, will do nothing to infantry, a tank, a 4 wheeler or anything for that matter. It is useless in the heart of the map and a waste of a valuable vehicle. Its why you don't see as many AA's as you do tanks.

I play to help my team win and I think its pretty infantile to come on a message board and tell someone to GTFO because they didn't PTO the exact same way you do. We could have squashed this like two friends via PM.

Not to mention I obviously didn't want to end up on the other team. Hopefully you get where I'm coming from, harbor no ill will and we can get back to winning together.

What do you think the main job of the AA is? It's to sit behind your line and shoot down planes and helicopters, a destroyed AA gun is not very effective against a little bird.

Defense is also just as important as offense but your not going to get as many points, I wish every team I played on had a guy who could dominate the AA gun. Btw, I would rather have a team of guys who go 22-3 vs 14-23, the team with more kills almost always wins.!

I find it incredibly bush league that you came on here to rip on another player, I would hate to play a game with someone who is going to critique my work on a forum. My suggestion for you is worry about yourself and not the guy on the other team.

The AA is bush league. But the AA is going to be, and has to be used during conquest. I'm not knocking dude for using it, IMO if you are good in vehicles, utilize them.

But I wouldn't always take 22-3 over 14-23. I wouldn't trade Pito for the top player on the opposing team ever. Pito plays the hell out of objectives, and is that kid who annoys objective 'x' so bad that multiple squads can't advance to another because they get held up trying to swat the nat.

I get both sides of the argument, but conquest isn't one of those modes where kills = wins.

I don't think I was in the game but seems like both played good. One obviously took away air superiority and the other capped objectives.

          Win/win.

Trust me, there's no ill will from us. It's all just friendly jabbing, man

But the AA strategy is dependent on the map and the situation. On Dawnbreaker, if you're holding A and B with it, but the enemy has C, D, & E, then the AA isn't helping. With all the buildings, helicopters and wreak havoc on C, D, & E with minimal threat from the AA. But on a map like Golmud Railway, you can really cover an entire half of the map from relatively close to the gimme flag (E or G)

I think the true way to measure if an AA is PTFOing is the amount of vehicle destroys and flags defended and of course total points

              Win/win.

I don't really agree the AA gun is unfair but it's really moot. I just have a huge problem with someone coming here and ripping another player, totally uncalled for.

In a massive online multiplayer game people need to realize not everyone will play the objective ur way or even have the same outlook on the game. Once you accept that fact the multiplayer experience is more enjoyable.

No doubt. IMO the AA is BS. by the time you counter measure, and a jet can turn back around to lock on it's over. Not to mention it doesn't need to leave the spawn so ground vehicles can't really get to it. Add to the fact you can fire missiles that guide themselves. Jeez. I wish they'd take counter measures from the AA.

This is coming from someone who uses the AA but also enjoys jets/heli's.

An AA is obviously very powerful but in no way should you not need to leave a spawn to top the board in a game.

I've sat in Paracel Storm and shot helicopters and jets out of the sky before they could even reach that first blueberry sniper island.

Id hate to see it nerfed to the point of not being usable, but dice could do a few things:

Increase rocket reload, remove the missles that don't require lock that guide themselves, allow pilots to out maneuver rockets (finally), or take away the AA counter measure.

All of that. Like Dog said, this was meant to be a friendly jab, not trying to incite a firestorm. At the end of the day we're all just doing our best to support the OS platoon and win games, whether that's through protecting the air or being the annoying mosquito to opposing flags.

No worries, I just wanted to be clear that I'm playing the objective. Consider it buried and done.

Man I swear I was on the dumbest team I can ever remember playing with. I know we all have to start somewhere but I have to draw the line and say this dudes should be banned. Things like

-4 guys standing within 5 ft guarding an mcom, and 1 enemy prones behind them all and arms it
-1 guy standing next to an mcom guarding it (facing the opposite way from the way the enemy is coming from). An enemy puts c4 on the mcom, arms it, then runs away and blows dude up while he unarms it. All while dude literally had his back to the mcom
-A teammate shooting at me trying to get my attention so I would give him some ammo - doesn't realize i'm a little busy shooting at the 4 enemies that rolled up behind him
