    Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater

I borrowed my little brother's Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 disc for PS2 this past weekend. The problem is, it's insanely choppy-like. I feel like this game was a lot smoother when I played it ten years ago. Am I crazy?

Edit: Of course, as I submit my message, I find my answer. My brothers bought their copy from a re-sale shop and only played it once before losing interest. Turns out it's because it came in a PS2 box but it's the PS1 version, I forgot the PS2 was backwards compatible. Were all PS1 Tony Hawks this choppy though? The N64 Hawks ran pretty darn smooth by comparison.

Even the Dreamcast versions of THPS 1 and 2, which are technically the best ports, only ran at 30 frames per second. But at least those versions were locked in at a steady 30 FPS. There were no frame drops or anything like the PS1 and N64 games had.

Yeah, I was definitely surprised by what I came across today. I was ready to dominate some THPS 3 too, so now I'm kind of bummed. I'll say though, even the N64 versions of THPS and THPS 2 felt as smooth as butter compared to the PS1.

        The 64 version of THPS:

With PS1's THPS3 today, it felt like the graphics were shaking around anytime I moved, which only made things worse.
