I've read that a lot, that the characters tend to turn people off, especially how some of them are scripted. How long did it take you to complete? I thought I had read somewhere 6-7 hours, is that true?

I enjoyed all the characters. Yeah, there were some characters that I wanted to make sure they die in the game but that's expected as you're not going to want to save everyone because of their character but that's a good thing because that's makes the game good. Every character is different but yet, the chemistry and everything just gels so well together. I played through the game once and I finished it in less than ten hours. There's ten chapters and I would say that each one is an average of an hour or less. For it to take longer, you would literally have to walk around every area completely to find all the collectables. Think old school RE where you would walk around all the edges of every room or area looking for items.

About that long. I didn't time it. It would be an easy platinum but I went to do one chapter again and got 15 mins in or so and messed up. Since it quickly saves at each point I'd have to do all 15 mins agin and wasn't going through that at this time lol

I agree that the camera is like the old school Resident Evil titles. I do like the graphics a lot and the gameplay is good too.

Until Dawn takes the Telltale formula to the next level imo which is great. I hope David Cage plays this game to get some ideas for whatever his team is working on next. I think it's the game called Dreams but can't recall.

That's not too bad then. I'm going into Chapter 6 soon, so it doesn't seem like it's a very long game. BBY is giving $30 trade still so I hope to have this wrapped up in the next day or so. I'd love the platinum for this, but do not want to go through the troubles you describe to attain it. I have too many games right now to plow through so one play through is going to be good enough.

Honestly thought the characters were perfect for a horror movie, there's always the one b*tch you want to die, the "easy" girl, the funny guy, the jock, the ladies man and the virgin. This game has them all.

It takes about 6-7 hours if you're not going out of your way to find everything. Platinum can be done with 1.5 plays if you don't make a silly mistake. Took me 1 full play through and two plays starting from half way to platinum so maybe 12 hours total.

Agree in regards to Emily and without really spoiling anything, I felt that way about a few characters but doing what you want to do and should do are two very different things and that's what also makes the game good.

Camera is setup like old school RE which works in the game's favor because if it was a free roaming camera, the atmosphere and immersion wouldn't have the same affect.

Until Dawn is easily better than the Telltale Games and better than Beyond Two Souls in my opinion. Can easily see this game becoming a Sony franchise IP. Same premise and setup with different locations, characters and story.

Haha. My own personal rating for Until Dawn is an 8/10. I'm a lot more strict this gen than I was last gen. I have five categories I rate the game in with the last one being replay value, length, side missions, collectables, etc. This category always brings down the score for linear games like Until Dawn because even though it's re-playable and the outcome is different, getting there is still the same. Not a fan of overrating games and if anything, I probably underrate games more now than I did last gen.

As for PGW, im really hoping to see Sony Bend's new IP and what Sony Santa Monica is working on (which is rumored to be God of War) but both are more likely to be shown at PSX in December.

No Man's Sky is 2016 and most people think the game is basically finished but Sony is holding it to be a launch title for PSVR. As for PSVR, I would think that PSX will be where the details of price and release date are revealed.

Agree with pretty much everything you said except for MLB 16 which is much more likely to be shown at PSX. New IP as well as Heavy Rain/Beyond Two Souls re-mastered from Quantic Dreams is pretty much a guarantee. I would be shocked if it's not.

Either way, show should be good and is basically what would have been shown at GamesCom is Sony had a press conference there.

One game that I see being announced 100% guaranteed and will be shocked if it's not is Gran Turismo 7. I'm expecting the official announcement and a trailer at PGW with an actual gameplay trailer at PSX.

Seems for once my laziness has paid off, mean to trade this in a week ago but I guess I'll fire it up on Saturday to see what's up. I swear if they just put a jack-o-latern on the psychiatrist's desk I'm going to be maaaaaad.
