I'm a New Conglomerate member as well. If anyone wants to join a squad, hit me up on the Jaeger (East) server (Smiley79).Comment

Re: Planetside 2
I played the original planetside and this one has a lot of upgrades from that(weapons, boost, bases) Maps are HUGE.
Big Tip. At first its hard to identify who the enemy is because the uniforms from a distance kinda all blend in. Just shoot at anything that don't have a triangle above its head...that's the enemy.
Only problem I am having with the game so far is lag.Comment

Re: Planetside 2
I was a huge fan of the original, as well. I didn't get into the beta until pretty late, so I haven't been able to play all that much. From what I have played, the facilities are exceptionally large and complex. It took me awhile to figure out how to approach some of the bases, because they were surrounded by shields (with minimal entrances). The only lag that I've been seeing is because of my own system. I'm still playing around with the graphical settings to smooth out the FPS.
Jumping into a squad/platoon seems to have carried over from the previous game. Within seconds, you can be apart of a 50 man platoon with waypoints and objectives spread across the entire planet. Communicating within your squad/platoon has been pretty seamless (either by a chat box or mics). Organizing groups of people can be handled quite well in this game.
From the action that I've seen, this game gives you many different elements of a continuous war. The constant struggle for different strategic points, being rewarded resources for holding portions of the map, matching up three different empires for a single base (at any given moment), etc. The new element that was missing from the original game (from my memory) are the night battles. There's nothing like battling in the dark and seeing the different colors flashing in the sky.
While this is just a few general points about the game (from my limited playing), it should give you an idea of how massive this game really is and the potential that it gives you. When you're talking about wars being raged across 3 continents between 3 empires with the potential of literally hundreds of people fighting over a single piece of land at any given moment. The possibilities are many.Comment

Re: Planetside 2
I got into the Beta with about two weeks till launch and been playing it alot these last few days. I never played the first one and to be honest never heard of it. That said I was really excited when I heard what is was going to be like.
I really enjoy this game even when playing solo its still a blast.
I also experience lag but that is my systems fault and only experience it when I am in the really huge battles. The game crashes for me here and there, been that way since the beta for me.
Almost every game says, "No two battles will be the same" that statement is completly true for this game. The tide can be in your favor, but they bring a Mobile Spawn Point to the battle all of a sudden you being pushed back and they are on the offensive. That aspect brings a new feeling for me to the battles and its amazing. I really like the layout of the capture points each base has and the BioDomes, which are the huge bases, are really cool to defend and attack. At first when you don't know how to get in when attacking its very frustrating, but when I found out about the teleporters located around the Domes it instantly made those the best to attack for me.
Sadly my system can't run it very well even on low settings so in the really big battles it lags for me, but when it works it is a real blast. I haven't been this excited for a PC FPS game since cod4 and it isn't disappointing me, I recommend anybody to try it out, but it is a lot of things at once when you first start so be patient.
Sorry for jumping around and I hope I made sense lol.Comment

When you hit the Escape key, you should see several options (including the Certifications page). You can also access certs by browsing your individual classes and loadouts (also along the bottom of the page after hitting ESC).Comment

As far as performance issues go, it seems like most are having issues (especially with getting lower frames per second during large battles). It appears that the game is extremely CPU-intensive. I've been getting round 25-30 FPS at the warpgate, and it could drop to 10-15 FPS during large battles (which is not good at all). There are some tweaks to increase the performance, but it is ultimately up to the developers to do some tweaking (which they appear to be doing). Until then, I will continue to plug away at the game and do my part until things get better.Comment

Re: Planetside 2
Anybody know any good infiltrator tutorials that actually involve infiltrating instead of sniping?Comment
