I agree it sucks, but the Xbox is the worst offender imo. Want to play DVDs? Shell out another $20. Want to hook up 5.1 audio? Welp, another $30... Sony may not put 4 controller ports on the system, but at least they gave you a digital audio connection and dvd playback ablities out of the box.

You have GOT TO be kidding..??..??

HDTV, 5.1 Digital,Hard drive and 4 controller ports included. Yes you had to buy remote to get DVD playing, however I bet most PS2 owners also bought one instead of using controller. Also the digital audio on PS2 is not IN GAME digital surround as far as I can remember.
There's no comparison as to which of the 2 abused the add-on aspects. Not even close...

Whats the suggested retail for this bad boy? I heard on the news over the summer that Japan will get them first, and will be about $700. I also heard its got a hardrive, Tivo, and maybe even DVD/CD burning capabilites. Not sure though.
