Lost Planet 1 wasn't bad, but Lost Planet 2 is such a large derivation from the original story..... it's such a different game in the early going. I can't put my finger on it. I think they were just trying to figure out a way to get out of the snow.

I remember owning the first Lost Planet and I got bored with it.

I tried also LP2, but got bored of it too.. it was set in the jungle, correct ?

The problem with LP1 is the vast wasteland to cover initially. You sort of have to stick with it, but the cut scene dialogue is a bit painful and after seeing the jist of the last battle, I just gave it up.

I was just about to do the same with LP2. It does appear to be all jungle but it definitely is not. It's an array of landscapes. And the new super-Akrid are pretty cool! It was designed for multi-player, but that's not my speed. However, playing on normal difficulty single player is quite a challenge. But it does feel like a completely different game. I can't imagine trying this on hard without a partner. The AI teammates are useless, so that doesn't work. If you could get it for under $10 it's definitely worth a buy. If you like online melee / mayhem type stuff... it does that too and I think people still play it. But I suck at that kind of stuff.

OH..... they've also worked in a sprint feature, since apparently there were complaints with the first one traveling at one speed when on foot. It's a limited run type of thing where you must wait to sprint soon after. Also, there seems to be less VS operating in this one, but there is enough.

I was going to suggest Mass Effect, but I think you already mentioned beating those.

Someone mentioned Final Fantasy 3 from the PSN though and I have to agree with that. As far as RPGs go you can't really do any better than that one. The gameplay was amazing, and the characters were great.

Another title that I would recommend, but I'm not sure if it is on the PSN is the Xenosaga series (1, 2 3). To me it was the most compelling story I ever played in a video game, and just a joy to play.

Gonna start Mass Effect soon as well as the 3rd Uncharted (actually liked Uncharted 1 over 2). LP2, though having a somewhat disjunct storyline is proving to have long-term play value and very unique enemies along with imipressive graphics. For example, I think their portrayal of water texture is better than Uncharted.

Do yourself a favor. either buy a nintendo wii u when it comes out or buy a nintendo wii now and a classic controller and play...

MGS series is better than any other game out there with story-telling. People that usually dislike it just do not take the time to understand what is happening in the story because the game is not meant to be easy to understand. It forces you to think, which many people try to avoid unknowingly.

Metal Gear Solid ran it's course after the first one.
Not everyone is into a convoluted mess of random paranoid world conspiracy bs.

Best story 'elements' (writing, characters, dialogs) goes to Planescape: Torment.

Hahahaha. I don't think so. The story has gotten beyond ludicrous with all the retcons and stuff pulled from rear ends. I'm not sure if Kojima has gone bonkers, is on heavy drugs, or it's all just a practical joke aimed at the rabid fanboys.

I vote MGS 4 as the worst film of 2008

All the Metal Gear Solid/Snake Eater games.

It takes a lot of time to get into MGS, but once you do it's amazing what Kojima has created. I would recommend going on YouTube and watching a longplay of Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, and Metal Gear Solid. These games really tell a story.

Enslaved has one of the best stories of this generation. Made by the same folks who made Heavenly Sword. The story is fantastic.
