        Re: ZombiU (Wii U)

Went to lay down in cot to save and it said "too dangerous" or something like that. Hit radar and there was a hit outside safehouse. Went out and I believe it was a character from TheSkow! I killed it and got a few nice items like a molitav(sp) cocktail. Scared the crap out of me but very cool.

              I agree.

The more I play, the more ridiculous the poor reviews from some of the big sites look.

I have to say that I love the way they handled ammo and the amount of usable slots you can access during gameplay.

Ammo is precious, and you really have to plan out what you're going to keep in the backpack, and what you keep in the quick access slots. It really adds a subtle, yet reasonable level of realism.

I think that's going to be my angle on the review. Obviously a zombie apocalypse is not realistic, but this feels authentic.

Yeah, that's the thing though, there's plenty of room for the unrealistic and fantastical. Just look at the zombies in this game with special powers or whatever...

But as the user controlling a "survivor", they've created as realistic of an experience as possible for this type of game.

I think some of the reviewers were expecting a zombie survival game with the same pacing, sensitivity, and inventory control as a COD game. Instead, it has more in common with Resident Evil or Dead Space. Which in my opinion, is perfect for a survival horror game.

It's far less forgiving than those games. I'd say it's more like Dark Souls in terms of your approach to playing it, as well as structurally. It's just really smart design.

You're right. Plus, the scarcity of save points and item loss with each character puts added emphasis on each death.

Aside from that, the gameplay definitely favors the horde(even a fairly small one) over the user. The difficulty and strategy is a welcomed change of pace for me, that's for sure.

                          Love the game!
Still in The palace and was "almost" done there I think when I screwed up.

I need that radar upgrade. I just finished the horde rush at buckingham palace. Died once but was able to pick them off with a survivor from behind.

Just got the radar upgrade, also leveled up too, not sure what that actually does though.
