Biggest Disappointing Game(s) of the Year.

Mine would have to go like this:

    1. Diablo 3 (Way to dumbed down and bare. So hyped to play then it just destroyed me...)
    2. Resident Evil 6
    3. Resident Evil Raccoon City
    4. Mass Effect 3 (Ending)

    Street Fighter X Tekken.

I hear it's much more balanced and better overall after patches, but I can't even be bothered to give it another chance.

      Ghost Recon: Furture Solider...

Seriously, the game data (PS3) was Russian....

How do the hell does a PAL game end up with RU game data? No patch for this or anything, not to mention quite a lot of other bugs.

NFS: MW, even though I never bought it. Still EA somehow continue to distance themselves from the mass amounts of fans that craved the Undergrounds and original Most Wanted. Now, it's just a Burnout with real cars. SMH.

I would have to go with Assassins Creed 3 for me. I loved all the previous games in the series except #1 and now #3. It lacked polish and the story never really got me interested. So much promise for this time period and it just fell flat.

Madden 13. The commercials game play was nothing like actual gameplay. Peoples arms and legs folding in crippling positions with contact, tackles not matching momentum or angles. Ccm filled with bugs and just too many screens that were not needed

            1) Max Payne 3 (not a bad game but I expected so much more!)
            2) NCAA 13 (Just a let down, I always had hope but it crushed me)
            3) Sleeping Dogs; So much potential in here, gah!

-Syndicate. I was big fan of the bullfrog series back in the day and this is NOTHING like it. Honestly the game wasn't awful, but it wasn't Syndicate. If you're going to dig up a name from the late 90's, then live true to the name. EA destroys another brand.
-BF3. Some titles are not meant for mainstream, and this is one of them. Instead of sticking to their tried and true formula, they decided to go with "more is better" and "bigger is better" instead of focusing a great level design and balanced gameplay. They created so many weapons, vehicle ad ons, etc that there is no way they can balance them all. Their attempt to compete with Call of Duty ultimately ruined this franchise. EA destroys another brand.

Guild Wars 2. I was really into it for the first 2 weeks, then realized I was still just clicking things on timers. The only times I ever felt in real danger was doing the jumping puzzles, which the interface and camera made incredibly aggravating.

I can understand where your coming from, but to say it's destroyed the franchise is a little bit extreme... Given how if you look at what BF3 has done since it was released, it's been an incredible success. Not only has it set itself as possibily the top FPS out there, but it also distanced itself from Call of Duty. Too many comparisons are made between two very different games. EA has done a great job of keeping the franchise fresh with new features, additions, and the always brilliant DLC.

If anything, it's Call of Duty competing with Battlefield. Ultimately, they will fail.

Re: Biggest Disappointing Game(s) of the Year.

                      Let's see:

Dishonored - Going into it I liked the videos, the art style, the steam punk-ish stuff, freedom to roam, etc, but actually playing it I hated the thing. I hated the gameplay, I hated the story, it was all really disappointing.

Hitman Absolution - I haven't even played it and it's more of a feeling of being duped than being disappointed in the game.

Outside of that I really don't have any. I can typically know going in what I'm going to think of a game.

I like the debates that usually come with these threads, because we will all likely disagree on several different games because we all have different expectations.

                          - Mass Effect 3 (pre-DLC)

Outside of that, I've enjoyed most everything.

I thought Max Payne 3 was phenominal, from start to finish. The ending was a little easier than expected, but the game itself was awesome.

Also, even though Battlefield was released last year, I still disagree that it's an unbalanced game. There's a solution and a way to deal with everything in multi player. The guns all have a different feel and approach necessary and most nerfs and buffs to weapons with patches have all been within reason and for the best for the game.

The Armored Kill maps did leave something to be desired, though. They are beautiful, well thought out maps, but they are way too big for the console version of the game.

From top to bottom, BC2 had the better maps.
