I do pretty well in control, but not so hot in clash. Oh well, just need to complete 5 matches to finish a bounty, then it's back to control anyways.

Re: Destiny
Control is by far my favorite game mode. Chaotic but strategic at the same time.
One thing I like about Destiny is it's a game in which you can literally just pick up and play. For people who can't spend 30-40 hours a week playing video games, Destiny is the perfect game if you only have an hour or two every few days to play. Play a quick Strike Mission or Raid, hop into a few games of MP, play some random events or just explore and complete the Vanguard beacon missions on free roam.
It's hard to review a game like this because it's constantly evolving and changing. For me Destiny has never been or never will be about the story in all honesty. I was drawn to the strike missions, raids, and MP mostly. I see this game as the FPS version of Diablo III. Just kill things, get loot and go and kill more things.Last edited by SinisterAlex; 09-12-2014, 09:44 PM.Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

Re: Destiny
I like the Scout Rifles because their the closest thing to the BR/DMR in Halo. Hand Cannons are fun too, but I decided to give the Shingen-C (Auto Rifle) a go in 4 PVP matches. Why does this weapon have so much stability?

Re: Destiny
Unlike some others I don't really care about the SP and I'd rather play the MP. I hate that they make you get to level 6 before playing.Moderator

Re: Destiny
Level 22 now, no where close to beating the story. I am having so much fun with the strikes and the crucible. Crack I tell you.
HINT on leveling up past 20...
SpoilerYou level up past 20 by getting armor that has "light" in it. The more light you wear, the higher your level. I have gotten mine by playing high level strikes (20+) and just playing plain ole Crucible.Comment

I have been thinking the same thing. You really can't judge it now. Look back in a year and see how much content it has.Control is by far my favorite game mode. Chaotic but strategic at the same time.

People want to compartmentalize games so much, but this one is pretty unique for consoles and is difficult to review, because it is so non-traditional.Comment

Question for those that do it, when you hit max level is there still incentive to play? Like, in Diablo 3 I hit max level and I keep playing, killing more monsters and trying to get better loot. Is there some good end-game content here?Lux y VeritasComment

Yes, but don't go in expecting ARPG loot.I have been on the fence about this game...but this may have just sold it.

Go in fully expecting an MMO loot-grind.
Using Crucible Marks as an example here. You can get 100 marks/week.
Once you hit reputation level 2 with whichever vendor is selling the stuff you want (there's FWC, Dead Orbit, the general Crucible vendor), which will take quite some time, the crucible gear sets cost...
Primary Weapon - 150 marks
Secondary Weapon - 150 marks
Heavy Weapon - 150 marks
Head - 120 marks
Arms - 65 marks
Chest - 65 marks
Boots - 65 marks
Class Item - 65 marks (note: for these, you can get them for Glimmer only if they are from one of the other reputations, as that is how you raise them)
for a grand total of... 830 marks. Which would be 9 weeks worth of maxing out marks/week and grinding reputations.
Note that this is NOT the only way to gear up. But it is the only way to know exactly what you are buying/getting.
That timeframe also applies to the Vanguard weapons and armor from that vendor.badComment
