I decoded a bunch of blue engram's tonight and in a one minute period I got three legendary items, a auto rifle, a pulse rifle, and gloves. Craziest thing I've seen yet in the game.

Farmed that earth spot last night for a couple hours. Took myself from level 15, to 20 in that span. Was involved in 2 intense firefights too where enemy's just spawned from every where as well. Was awesome! Picked up alot of great stuff, nothing legendary that I noticed, but several blues that helped me grow my character bigtime.

Quick question though, some of the weapons I've gotten, the attack numbers show up in different colors, with little symbols beside them... what on earth does that mean? Like I've got one shotgun that says (im making these numbers up right now) Attack 168/175 in white, then the exact same shotgun where the numbers are in say... orange, or blue, or purple I think. What's up with that? I'm playing as a Titan btw.

Let me preface this by saying, I think this game is a whole hell of a lot of fun, but with more time invested in the game (lvl 21 now) I am starting to be jaded about what I thought my experience was going to be. I am going to leave story out of this since its already been discussed that it lacked as a whole.


Since there are some folks within this thread who have played a lot more MMOs than I have I want to gauge what you think can be done by bungie to ADD features to the game. I read a while back on an IGN article that bungie's goal was to have Destiny be a 7 year or longer title. So does that mean they will be adding/patching things in and expanding the gameplay even more, and if so, what are the limits to this?


Here are some of my concerns if you will...


Environment:
-All maps feel the same. Look different but act and feel the same.
-There is no aura of mystery to any one.
-Often times there's an expansive area that has a few random things to interact with.
-Where are easter eggs/hidden passage ways/etc
-Nothing that blows up, disappears, changes...
-Less Gravity on the Moon IRL right? So why don't we somewhat float there? Missed experience from bungie and/or explanation.


Exploration:
-Goes back to environment...there's just nothing "NEW" to discover. I am to the point where you've seen one map, you've seen/experienced them all. Some are harder, but almost everyone is some run-down/rusted out base wiith nothing to interact with, no lever to pull, no map, no aura of mystery.
-Limitations, I know there's a great big universe out there, but I can't explore it, and bungie has not told me why. If its a matter of their design right now, then add in a bit of story narrative which gives us a reason...something...


There are no RPG elements to this game. No quests (I don't see bounties as quests because they provide no immediate reward), no conversations, no ability to barter. Can this be added or are we stuck w/ this design choice.


Skill Tree/Abilities: Seems very linear with no ability to influence what trait/ability gets XP. My assumption is nothing can be done here, complete design choice that we all have to roll with.


Events/Strikes:
-Have encountered two. While fun, they offered no different gameplay experience than anything else I've done so far. No puzzle, nothing to figure out, just aim/shoot/outlast opponent.


-Played a Vanguard strike the other night. It was a re-hash of a story mission with slightly harder enemies. Seems like there's no originality to anything, everything is just rinse/wash/repeat of something else.


These are some of my thoughts/feelings right now. Don't have enough time to add more since I need to head to work. Wanted to put this out there now to offer up for discussion. BECAUSE...


I am excited about this game and holding out hope that w/ more time bungie can add a lot more to the game that fills some of the gaps I've identified above...if that's at all possible....

I've played for about an hour, hour and a half. I'm at level 7. I'm still not 100% sure what the hell I'm doing.

Haha. I was thinking the exact same thing last night. There is so much stuff going on and I haven't taken the time to dive in and learn what's going on. I just run toward objective and plow through enemies. Quick question when you jump into a level and there are already people there are they supposed to be on you team or does it just allow three people into each instance to do their own missions. Their levels indicate they much be doing something other than the three of us intended to be a fire team.

This is pretty much what the game is about. Fighting the same enemies over and over and over again in 3 different environments while hoping that cool equipment drops.

If anyone has a difference of opinion on what this game is about I would like to hear it.

Finally hit rank 2 vanguard, so the only thing I'm not wearing that isn't either legendary or exotic is ny helmet.

Holding out hope Xur has the same pieces this weekend so I can fill that with the exotic helm... otherwise I'll have to wait until next rest to get the legendary.

The moon and myself are about to become great friends... looks like I'll need 150-200 helium filaments to upgrade that gear, along with the ascendant stuff. Blah. Getting those mats is the worst.
