I have to disagree with that article's very premise, you can't claim something is an MMO and anybody that thinks otherwise is an ignorant lout when it was Bungie who was telling anybody that would listen that the game was not an MMO. It was Bungie that sold this game one way, and if the experience is something else it will be judged that way.

As for the MMO, it has good mechanics, but it's very limited in scope and array of activities. It is also very antisocial for an MMO, especially for something that was supposed to be a social game.

About to hit level 24 and still no purple+ gear. Nothing but Vanguard playlist.

Hopped on to do some of the bounties since I got home. Doing a patrol mission, find a rare ship pattern. Interesting, didn't know I could even find those.

Oh well, hello useless cosmetic rare ship.

Ended up finding a group farming the cave, stayed 1.5 hours, this was my haul.



All those extra inventory items are blue engrams, 2 ended up greens, the rest blues, had 3 upgrades in there now I am level 22 almost 23. Still no purple.

Me and a friend completed the heroic weekly strike.





That was the most fun and challenging experience yet. This week's angry modifier makes the enemies relentless. The last part against the Phogoth (ogre) took us about an hour and we never got wiped during it. You could not stay still for more than a few seconds before enemies were on top of you. We just kept circling the outer perimeter of the arena and taking shots at the boss when we could. We stuck with the plan when one of us went down, circling back around to try and revive (there's no respawns in the heroic weekly strikes). Several enemies from hallowed knights to witches stayed attacking my friend even after he died, so I had to drop my bubble shield over top of them and him to revive. It was nuts and such a great feeling of accomplishment when we saw the boss disintegrate. Moments like this are why I'm able to look past some of the flaws in this game.

I was sad. I didn't buy the legendary helm this week, hoping Xur would have the same stock as last week.

Bought this instead, it replaced the legendary I had there already sadly.

Missing a legendary helm The hunt continues.



Did end up getting a legendary sniper rifle, though. It's called FINAL BOSS. Won't replace my trust Fusion Rifle, but still nice to have just in case a fight calls for a sniper rifle.

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't mind all the pulse rifles and shotguns in PVP.

Me and my faithful auto rifle have never been outside the top 2.

Auto rifles in pvp for life!

Shotty as a secondary on all maps cept Moon (sniper).

I started using fusion pistol to stop shotguns and it has worked gloriously. I laugh like a maniac when I kill those shotgun bastards.

Also picked up a Shingen E from the earth cave (finally) and I slay now.

I saw you had one on you this morning, you're pvp good to go!

Finally got a legendary last night in a daily strike. It's a helmet, pretty good one. The other legendary engram ended up being a rare item.
