Destiny
Think I'm going to call it quits with Destiny, it was fun but the time commitment is just too much. I was on the fence right after TDB came out but I'm not really digging the grind anymore, sometimes it this game feels like another job.

Re: Destiny
About the first part of Crota's End, the lamp "maze":
This entire section is all about speed, you have to get from lamp to lamp as quick as possible. Stopping, even for 8 seconds to rez someone, is a killer. You stop for a few seconds, you get a bunch of darkness stacked on you. You stop, the next light blows and you take a long time to get to the third, or guys waiting get overwhelmed.
So what do you do? Run. That's it, run. When you are between lights, run like you are being chased by death, because you are. It's tempting to think you can hip fire an auto rifle, but that's just going to slow you down and you won't dent the spawning hoard of thrall. So you will die.
So what the ****, all these thralls are gnawing at my ***, what else can I do but turn and shoot? Trust your team. When they hit the lamp, they are going to turn around and shoot to get those things off you. Keep up and trust they will turn. Aren't close enough to get cleansed of thrall before you hit the lamp? Good thing you switched to a grenade with an AOE like a solar grenade (or it's other classed equivalent) right? Throw that thing a couple feet in front of you and run through it.
Holy ****, you made it to the next light, but you are near death with thrall behind you, what now? Run to the back of the light and melee something. You did set your melee to make you shielded or invisible, right? Oh damn, melee isn't charged, what now? Have a grenade? Throw it on the ground and stand in it, thrall won't touch you, grenade won't hurt you, your health will regen (this is with a solar grenade, your results may vary).
Sweet, you made it a bunch of lights, but the others are going too fast, they leave before you can cleanse and you just keep falling further behind. Before it gets that bad, if they leave and you still have x2 darkness on you, say you need them to hold at the next light, that way you can get fully cleansed and say when the group moves on next.
Well, **** you, I still died, this is bull****. I get it, being dead is a downer, but don't sweat it too much, even dieing is helping. You didn't fall behind and now a thrall is doing unspeakable things to your corpse, you helped keep the thrall off the others by shielding them against the tide of claws. You only need one guy to make it, be content to know you did play a key role getting him there.
Sooo...
Grenade: Something AOE based
Primary weapon: Something with firefly preferred, it clears thrall like nothing else, but whatever is fine.
Melee: Set it to shield you on hit, or the closest equivalent
Toughness/recovery/agility: A lot of people will respec and put agility high, I prefer to leave things as is and instead just switch murmur to lightweight instead of extra battery (using icebreaker with lightweight will work too, if preferred). It will give you speed and toughness/recovery, and it's quick enough to switch when you need primary.Last edited by Burns11; 12-19-2014, 04:18 AM.Comment
