Re: Destiny
I will still buy it, even if they don't change the pricing, but I can see where people are angry about it. I just have too much fun not to buy it and play, I wouldn't have played this thing like it was a job if I wasn't enjoying myself.
Edit: 3 things are hurting Bungie right now, and one is something that has hurt them every expansion.
1. That interview. Never let that guy do an interview again. Never.
2. The pricing, not sure why they thought that not giving people the option to avoid rebuying content to get exclusive content is beyond me. I'm sure it was someone outside of Bungie on the business side that said "create some exclusive content for a special edition" and kept pricing and such out of their hands but someone somewhere along the line should have seen this coming.
3. The slow reveal. Bungie has done this every expansion, try to reveal what is coming in an expansion over time and keep things back to reveal over weeks and weeks. This wrecks perception of what Bungie is offering because people's speculation runs wild. It could be more content than was in the vanilla, or it could be less than TDB, we just don't know. So you are going to have people form their own speculation and base their opinions, and expectations, off of that. Want to keep back fine details, fine, but if you don't explicitly let people know what they are getting you are going to be hurt by expectations.
I'm going to add a fourth and not go back and edit what I put before. They are also hurt by the fact these emotes are used, the current ones are kind of lame, and there are no other options available. If these extras were ships, or something else that there are 100 options for, the noise would be severely lessened. The fact that people use emotes all the time, and the fact that there are no real options otherwise, people feel like Bungie is deliberately taking advantage of the players.Last edited by Burns11; 06-23-2015, 01:36 PM.Comment

Re: Destiny
I've bought 5-6 games during Destiny's tenure that I really wanted to play, but haven't played any of them. Why? I have come to the conclusion I just really like playing Destiny. It's partly the mechanics and gameplay and partly the ability, with a busy schedule, to jump on at any interval and pick up and play.
I have also jumped off on games like this before at a similar point before, (Starwars the Old Republic), only to see great content released after I left and I missed out on it.
I completely respect the people that are moving on to something else, no issues there.Comment

Re: Destiny
I'm getting to the end of my rope simply because I've done just about everything. I only did Skolas once last week, and kinda had to force myself to do that. Need to get more into Elder Scrolls anywayComment

Re: Destiny
Yeah, Elder Scrolls has essentially taken over for Destiny for me. Every one of my friends at work moved on from Destiny right when ESO dropped, and I'm having more fun as well. Just a lot more content. Not trying to be negative about Destiny, as I've dumped more hours into it than any other game I've ever played, but I lost interest in the HoW expansion really fast after I realized that I really didn't like the PoE, and I'm not a hardcore PvP player so the ToO are out of the question for me. I'd say the biggest thing for me, honestly, is the fact that I still don't have Fatebringer. Sounds stupid, but I spent so much time every week trying to LFG a group for one damn gun, and to NEVER get it to drop is hilariously discouraging. It honestly wore me down to the point of never wanting to try again.
Unless TTK really changes up the formula, it may be all she wrote for me.Comment

Re: Destiny
This is how I feel about the Gjallerhorn. My group of 6 that I run with, they started dropping about a month ago. Now 4 of the 5 guys I normally run with have one. I'm really starting to lose interest. Because I know I will get one right before TTK, and it will become useless as its a year 1 weapon, and that will probably be enough to keep me from getting TTK.Yeah, Elder Scrolls has essentially taken over for Destiny for me. I'm at over 1200 hours into destiny. I would say most of that since TDB dropped and I stopped playing Madden all for one weapon....Moderator

Re: Destiny
It's been fun gents, I think I'm officially done with this game. Haven't played in almost two weeks and can't say I've had any urge whatsoever to play.
It's been a good ride but I think I'm moving back to my sports games, I've neglected them enough this year.

The thing I noticed when I stopped playing, then after about 2 and a half weeks went by...
The urge to play and get the latest & greatest gear simply went away.
I came back to try out the new HoW content at the time, did PoE and some other things. I just ended up playing that one day hoping to catch that feeling again, it never came.
I played a ton and absolutely loved it, but it eventually became DCUO, Defiance, etc to me. Once it really starts to feel grindy then it loses its fun.
I can't stress enough how fun it was tough. Awesome memories of first entering the two raids for the first time and also eventually beating them.
I def respect the OSers here that still have fun with it and will continue playing. Lord knows I played Everquest much longer than this games' been out so I understand.Comment

Re: Destiny
This is how I feel. I have such a back log of games I want to play. I've spent more time on this game than I have on any others, even in my Madden league. The grind has just been tiresome. I'll still play some, but probably not as much as before. I want to get to some of these other games. Plus, with Battlefront coming out this year, I know I'll be done with Destiny.Comment

Re: Destiny
I'm all for people and companies making some money, but what they're doing is so ridiculous and blatant, that it's almost comical.
Even the promotional material they sent to 7-11 stores is laughable.
"Destiny consumers are used to paying a premium for downloadable content similar to this quest."
Seriously, their DLC isn't on my radar at all now. There's just too many good games out there and a few decent devs out there that actually seem to appreciate the support (CD Projekt Red).Comment

Well, what part of that is false? I mean they haven't given us anything free in the past have they?I'm all for people and companies making some money, but what they're doing is so ridiculous and blatant, that it's almost comical.

Re: Destiny
Has nothing to do with it being true or false. "Community is used to getting milked for everything in this game so lets make them hand over more money." That wouldn't be false either.Last edited by sbauer318; 06-24-2015, 02:35 PM.Comment
