Re: Destiny
I haven't tried it in PvP at all, and in truth it's not great in PvE, but dreg's promise fires like a pulse rifle (to it's detriment in PvE, it makes vastian dynasty is better).^This reminds me of my old Gears of War days. Once a round started, EVERYONE would switch to their shotgun and start shooting off rounds to trigger their active reloads, which were the equivalent of having the final round perk on the entire mag.
Shotguns are just too op in these video games man. And its sad because I suck bad with shotguns. Im trash with snipers, trash with shotguns, fusion rifles dont even exist in Destiny anymore. I wish my secondary could just be another pulse rifle

For some reason I take this game very seriously and do honestly enjoy it immensely.
It pains me to do this but some tips for using shotguns: if you plan on shot gunning a lot because it's way too effective in this meta, I would turn your sensitivity up.
I play on 3 sensitivity in PvE and PvP because I like to snipe and it helps my aim. Being able to turn around quickly is really important to shotgunning so something more like 6+ would be good for that. Most of the really good PvP streamers and players play on low sensitivity as well because they snipe a lot.
Fusion rifles are actually still really solid in the crucible, the biggest thing for those is to have accelerated coils, increased hip fire accuracy, snapshot, etc. and to have good map knowledge + radar attentiveness. Knowing when to start pre-charging the fusion rifle is key and will get you so many more kills.
For snipers, if you want to get good, I suggest practicing in PvE if you're KD conscious. Fallen enemies behave most like real players IMO as they will strafe, duck in and out of cover, and run at you/away from you most. With sniping a good tip is to try and be conscious of where there head will be when aiming. That way you will have it preset so you can just drag snipe or make quick minor adjustments. I would suggest practicing with a LOW aim assist sniper rifle such as Efrideet's Spear and the NLB as it will force you to be more accurate and will improve your skills across all sniper rifles rather than just high aim assist ones.
As you can see, I've kinda transformed into primarily a PvP player and take it pretty seriously. These are all above tips I've read on reddit, seen on YouTube, and from watching TripleWreck, RealKraftyy, Mtashed, etc.
I've gone from sucking a lot to being above average IMO. My KD went from like .80 at the beginning to now having a 1.40-1.70 KD the past few months. It's made it much more enjoyable

Re: Destiny
During my last crucible efforts, the hopscotch gave me drastic improvements on my stats. In control I was getting near 2.5k/d regularly. I dont know if I can attribute that to getting better, the opposition being generally weaker due to ToO, or all to the Hopscotch. But what I learned is, Im more of a support guy. i dont like to be in the middle of the battle. I like to observe the close quarters guys and pick off from a far with a couple bursts from my pulse. Once a guy runs up on me its pretty much over, which is why I rarely get in those situations and my deaths stay low. I figure I should get some sniping in, but I just cant get those heads. The nerves get the better of me and I blow it. So then I give up completely on my secondary slot and stick to the pulse rifles.
Maybe this weekend I'll go into crucible with NLB and an LDR and force myself to learn the playstyle.
Sidenote: what possessed bungie to print out a bunch of low impact snipers for the HoW block of legendaries? Outside of Her Benevolence (which still alludes me) they all suck! I wasnt wise enough to stock up on Longbows and LDRs way back when.Comment

Re: Destiny
Probably a little of all 3, I'll be you're definitely getting better, the hopscotch is a nice gun that mows people down, and you've probably learned the maps better.
Knowing how to position yourself is also key, and knowing when to run away and not get in a gun fight is also important.
Sniping just takes a ton of practice. And yeah, the HoW snipers are trash. HB is really nice with a ton of aim assist and Shadow of Veils is actually incredible too.

I also started playing more of a support role. I would just get frustrated when I would sprint in and just get killed by a shotgun.During my last crucible efforts, the hopscotch gave me drastic improvements on my stats. Re: Destiny
A lot more TTK news from GameInformer today. I'm at work and can't link it but it's over on Destiny Reddit at the top of the page.
Some really cool stuff!
Also...green weapons in TTK will be better than year 1 raid weapons lmao.

Re: Destiny
I love to snipe, but when using my HP there is not really a reason too. If I'm using both weapons and someone rushes me I usually freak out and try to run away and get killed easily.Probably a little of all 3, I'll be you're definitely getting better, the hopscotch is a nice gun that mows people down, and you've probably learned the maps better.

Re: Destiny
Also I rerolled my Hopscoth away from Braced Frame, Third Eye, and Rangefinder to Braced Frame, reactive reload, and feeding frenzy. I'm hoping to see some improvement off that. I tell you it makes me miss my third eye. I love just hold down the aim and still seeing my radar.Comment

Re: Destiny
Fastest way to make your old raid content completely valueless.
I feel the exact same way. There really is no point to snipe as HP has good enough range for my playstyle.
Mine has outlaw and hidden hand. Almost every kill is a headshot so the super reload speed is awesome. Also I rerolled my Hopscoth away from Braced Frame, Third Eye, and Rangefinder to Braced Frame, reactive reload, and feeding frenzy.
