Oh, had an interesting thing happen on Mars. Bottom of the screen it said "a pack of wolves is prowling". Wolves? On Mars? So I went around and finally found some fallen, it was a servitor and 4 dregs off in a corner. They were too high level to hurt (?? level). I'm guessing that would have been a taken event, but since that isn't live it pulled from the wolves events and pulled from the fallen enemy list database instead of the taken database.

I don't quite know how to explain it but everything looks "better". I love the Vanguard and Crucible screens especially.

For some stupid reason the update didn't start downloading while my PS4 was in rest mode. I came home from work today all excited to test out the patch only to find it wasn't even downloading. The update just finished for me around a half hour ago so I've only dabbled through the Tower, the Director and menus so I can only speak for those.

I've been trying to level up my Last Word and I found all the perks were unlocked and I just had to spend glimmer and resources to unlock them. I'm assuming it's like that for all year one exotics. I went through the exotic blue prints and the shader/ player card blue print stations.

All in all I'm liking what I'm seeing. I'll defs be playing tomorrow and fooling around with the weapon balance changes.

EDIT: OH! And I LOVE that exotic armor now gets shaded with the rest of your armor. My titan looks bada** now.

Not sure why but the PS4 exclusives exotics are not showing up for me as Blueprints, and I'm on PS4. Is this happening to anyone else?

Also not sure if the new loot system came with this update, but I'm noticing a lot more engrams dropping.

Faction Class items are useless now. I was wearing the Dead Orbit cloak when I finished the Heroic, but it have me reputation towards my Vanguard instead if DO. Seem you have to pledge if you want to earn faction reputation.

It seem even easier to level up exotics now. Turned in 3-4 5k bounties with no telemetry, and I already unlocked the name sake perk for my Monte Carlo.

Looks like they changed the cryptarch rep needed per level from 2400 to 3000.

Patch didn't start in rest mode. When I woke my PS4 up, the patch started. This is about 5pm EST and it didn't finish until 11:30. Pretty bummed about that, especially during peak Wifi hours in my house. Logged in this morning and pledged my allegiance to New Monarchy (Warlock will do Dead Orbit). Got a few quests, my new ghost from the Speaker and then had to get ready for work. Looking forward to logging this after work and really checking this stuff out.

Should we be holding onto blue engrams that we get this week to decrypt next week? Or will they just give us year one weapons and armor?

Also, I'm guessing I should be saving up competed bounties for next Tuesday?

I would suggest turning in enough engrams this week to get within a few points of leveling the cryptarch so that next week when you turn in engrams you immediately get new stuff.

Since we can hold 16 bounties now wait on turning in those 5000xp bounties til next week too. So far I haven't seen any bounties worth more than 3000xp. I have 10 5K bounties saved so that'll be an extra 20K xp than I would have if I stored the new ones.

I think they changed the 5K XP bounties to 3K XP ones now. Also, Cryptarch packages don't roll until you open them, so you should be able to save a few and still get the new stuff.

I need to read a full breakdown of 2.0 but until then how can I get vanguard marks now?

I am only 7 away from my first purple from the Titan vendor. Seems like getting vanguard marks and rep has changed? I can only select level 20 strikes now which only give rep?

Honestly, I wouldn't bother buying anything until Taken King drops on 9/15. Whatever you buy now is going to be at the highest defense for non-exotic year 1 armor (160 nons, 170 exotics). Save whatever vanguard marks you can get between now and then and wait until you get the commendations and use those commendations as rep towards leveling up Vanguard. You could get TTK armor from them in a vanguard package.

If you want to get armor, just do the vanguard strike playlist. It should give you rep and marks.

I started downloading yesterday afternoon at 6pm and it still had 1 gig left when I woke up this morning to get ready for work.
Will dive in when I get home.

New strikes won't be available until Tuesday. The level 20 has all the strikes from year 1.
