Re: Destiny
Its all good. I honestly got back into it last week. It is a lot easier to level up now. I will be up for helping. Also, I have not run any of the strikes with this character to so that will be good.Comment

Re: Destiny
So as far as progressing your light level post patch goes, I'm assuming CoE is the best bet? I've gone up a couple light levels already just by getting drops and infusing gear, and I think I'll try the CoE this weekend.
Is there anything else I should be doing each week for sure? Obviously leveling factions for the packages, but those come as you play anyways.Comment

Destiny
Rank up factions/crucible/vanguard/Variks. Do night falls, raid and strikes.
This new loot system will raise you light incrementally. If your 320 you'll get drops slightly higher that 320 (up to 4 or 5 levels higher) that will slowly raise your level.
So every faction rank will net you a higher drop. Same for loot drops in Iron Banner/Trials.

Re: Destiny
Its been a while for me and things have changed.... Anyone have tips on factions?
I've just hit level 33 (quicker than I thought). My main question is should i pledge to a faction now as to build my rep asap? Are there any real advantages over any specific faction? TIA

Re: Destiny
No real benefits between the different factions. I'd say that FWC has a slight edge right now in terms of weapons you can buy (The Villainy and The Vacancy) so I might start there. Its been a while for me and things have changed.... Anyone have tips on factions?

Other than that, pick which one you like shaders, ships, gear for the most. When you hit rank 25 with a faction you get a quest line for an exotic faction class item for your respective character. These are the only exotic items that you can wear at the same time as another piece of exotic armor.
I would say pledge to a faction now, you can only pick one per week so choose wisely.
I don't know how much time you have this weekend until Tuesday but I would highly suggest trying to hit 40 and at least LL 280 this weekend so you can hop in some Iron Banner for good gear.Fino Alla Fine

I don't fully understand...you can only pledge to one faction per week? Meaning you have to lay glimmer every week to gain rep with a certain faction?

Vanguard strikes, any remaining quests you have, and just play some PvP matches is the quickest way to get to 40.
You just buy the faction with glimmer, you can only pledge to one per week. If you never change it you will remain in that faction. You don't have to pay every week. You use material exchange to gain faction rep at their vendor in addition to the normal strikes/PvP activities.Fino Alla Fine
