Re: Dark Souls II
SpoilerDitched the Drangleic Greatsword. It does seem like this games Drake Sword, since Twinkling Titanite is extremely hard to come by. Still using the armor set though.
Decided to level up the Large Club since it had an A is scaling with strength. Have it up to +5 now so its now an S in strength. After having trouble with the gargoyles and Lost Sinner, I took both out in 1 try. The club just smashed through each of the gargoyles in 3 hits. Wish I had that in Dark Souls 1Even took out an invader from the Bell Covenant while I dropped down to grab the Bastille Key. He got a nice smash from the Tower Shield.
Once I lit the room in the Lost Sinner boss fight it was way more manageable. I would always lose lock on him before and he would be able to hit me because the camera would spin around when I tried to lock back on. I was still really cautious with him. Only went in for an attack after he did his 3 hit combo, since otherwise he always seemed to dodge and counter.
Unpetrified Straid after that. I hate that room, *** **** exploding mummies. I ended up hitting Straid with my sword while I was taking them out. Luckily he didn't seem to mind.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Dark Souls II
Anyone using a cleric? What weapon are you using? I've been doing alright with the mace, and have even upgraded once with titanite, but I've also got the Heide Knight Sword and have thought about upgrading that as well. However, I planned on building my guy around STR/FTH, and in order to properly wield the Heide Knight Sword I would need to upgrade my dexterity quite a bit.
Decisions, decisions....
But hey, atleast I managed to FINALLY get the Ring of Binding today after a number of tries. I said screw it and just ran right by all of the knights. I killed the guy on the platform and pulled the lever right before the rest of the guy got to me, so I ran up, grabbed the ring and effigies out of the chest, then got the hell out of dodge.Comment

I've 2handed the starting mace for over half the game. Great weapon! I finally moved onto other weapons, but my character is dex/faith. I have about 15 str which allows me to 2hand most weapons I come across.

Re: Dark Souls II
I picked up DS II at launch but I had not really had time to sink into a first setting until last night. I went to that area of the Giants first to get that flaming sword. It's the first time in the game that I was like "hell yeah! woot! I accomplished something!"... but then I went down that ladder into a deeper part of that same building (the ladder in the hole right next to the bonfire) and I got hoe-slapped by some knights.. I feel so weak.. I hate dying LOL.. but I cant stop playing... and dying... lol.
Dark Souls is like that abusive boyfriend some chicks have. He slaps you around but you cant stay away lol.__________________________________________________ ____

Re: Dark Souls II
There are a few nice sets depending on what type of character you want to build.
The Faraam Set is a relatively light (total weight of 9.1) set. Hexer's Set (TW: 6.5). I believe the robe increases INT by 2.
The Black Tunic set is really nice (TW: 6.5) and each piece increases INT by 2 - you have to have an INT stat of 16 to wear, though, so it's for INT builds of course.badComment

Covetous Demon
SpoilerWow that was an easy boss fight, didn't get hit the entire fight. I got to his side and he was never able to fully turn around and face me so I just wailed on Jabba with my club.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

End game boss
SpoilerVendrick isn't even fun to fight... It's just irritating. He has insane defense and one shots you. I spent half an hour chipping him to half health and I ****ing slipped up on the roll once.

Re: Dark Souls II
Spoilerate me during the fight, spit me out as a naked hollow. I thought all my stuff was gone, but it was simply unselected. We're talking Eternal Darkness level of scares thereComment

Re: Dark Souls II
SpoilerI ended up seeing that too. I put down my summon sign after I beat him (Sunbro member now!) and I saw someone get eaten and spit out and seriously wondered if this game was cruel enough to destroy your equipment.
