It's tough to say because you can practically do any boss in any order. Freja could be the first great soul boss you fight or the last. But yeah, if you haven't jumped into the pit, that's one way you gotta go.

Yeah. On my first playthrough I cleared out most of the well before even getting to Freja or Pharros. This time I'm going through the "correct progression" I guess.

Just heard an awesome lore theory, had to see what you guys thought (late game spoilers). Some are saying that

Sorry about the double post, but just finished NG+ . It was probably due to my gear and soul level, but I breezed through. The only boss that took a couple tries was the Royal Rat Authority in Pharros. That and I actually was able to complete Lucatiel's quest line, while the other guy

I took a bow and some poison arrows with me this time and it made all the difference. To be able to pick off certain enemies with poison, or weaken them before they got in club range was a godsend. That and Elizabeth Mushrooms are amazing if you take 1-2 before or during a boss fight. I'm basically in the same boat, Lambert. I'm a little disappointed they nerfed Last Sinner on NG+, as I heard it was a wicked boss fight before the last patch.

I was dreading that and The Rotten(he always kicks my ***). They made Lucatiel decently strong. She barely got hurt against The Sinner or Smelter, and was decent through The Rotten. Jester Thomas is the best, even in NG+.

I got lucky and got one pretty early. If you're still not having any luck I can farm them a little and see if I can get another one. Then you could just summon me and I could just drop it for you. I see you're SL is 200ish, what's your SM? I know my SL is 152, just don't know my SM off the top of my head.

Both Black Dragon Swords are very cool looking and do pretty decent damage when made raw. Not sure if they can be infused, I forgot to check that. Since I have a plethora of Soul Vessels, I'll do a balanced respec and try making them Mundane as well.

Yeah I have a good bit of Titanite and the various infusing stones too.

Lucatiel definitely got buffed. And I agree, Jester Thomas is a beast. he absolutely wrecks medusa girl with his pyro.

I don't know why felt the need to do boss nerfing, I thought they were just fine.

I'll attribute it to the BlackNGold luck boost . I'm with you on the bosses. They weren't any harder, they just required more patience. The Scorpioness in Shaded Woods took so many hits on NG+, really high defense. I brought out the Mastodon Great Sword for bosses like The Rotten and

Haha, awesome. Glad you got one to drop! They are so wicked looking.

Sometimes a weapon change is what's needed because some enemies are more resistant to particular damage types (crushing, slashing, stabbing, etc.) in addition to different elements.
