It's tough to say because you can practically do any boss in any order. Freja could be the first great soul boss you fight or the last. But yeah, if you haven't jumped into the pit, that's one way you gotta go.

Re: Dark Souls II
Just heard an awesome lore theory, had to see what you guys thought(late game spoilers). Some are saying that
Spoilerthe Dragon at the Shrine isn't a real Dragon, but actually Aldia himself. When you kill that Dragon, it drops a Giant's Soul, while calling itself "us" in dialog. In Aldia's Keep, there is a stack of Giant bodies, as he was experimenting with giant souls. The DLC Homunculus mace mentions this. A bit about how Aldia experimented and kept trying for Dragons, only to suddenly disappear, never to be heard from again. Even Nashandra mentions that the Dragon is fake.
If true, man, that's amazing lore.Last edited by LambertandHam; 04-16-2014, 01:10 AM.Comment

Re: Dark Souls II
Sorry about the double post, but just finished NG+. It was probably due to my gear and soul level, but I breezed through. The only boss that took a couple tries was the Royal Rat Authority in Pharros. That and I actually was able to complete Lucatiel's quest line, while the other guy
Spoilerdied when Nashandra had two hits left....
I took a bow and some poison arrows with me this time and it made all the difference. To be able to pick off certain enemies with poison, or weaken them before they got in club range was a godsend. That and Elizabeth Mushrooms are amazing if you take 1-2 before or during a boss fight. I'm going to stay at NG+ as I haveSpoilermy Jester hat, Jester Gloves, Covetous Gold and Silver +2, along with tons of lucky coinsSpoilerArcher hat from one of the Red Phantoms near the Castle's King Door.

I just got theSpoilerboth the Black Dragon Sword and Great Sword last night. Neither scale with anything so I'm going try both Raw and Mundane to see which is better. They both at least look really cool. I was wearing the exact same farming get up as you, LoLLast edited by BlackNGold; 04-17-2014, 01:41 PM.Rod Woodson

Re: Dark Souls II
NG+ was kind of a breeze for me too and think you hit the nail on the head as to why. Pimped out gear and high level.

They both at least look really cool. I was wearing the exact same farming get up as you, LoLSpoilerBlack Dragon Sword to drop. All I'm getting are sheilds(I'm up to 3 Black Dragon shields now).
I do have around 90 Titanite Chunks sitting in storage. It just isn't worth the souls for me to level up anymore(around SL 205), so I buy other things. With the items we both use, I can get aroundSpoiler100K souls a run at Dragon Shrine in NG+
I was dreading that and The Rotten(he always kicks my ***). They made Lucatiel decently strong. She barely got hurt against The Sinner or Smelter, and was decent through The Rotten. Jester Thomas is the best, even in NG+.Last edited by LambertandHam; 04-17-2014, 05:45 PM.Comment

Both Black Dragon Swords are very cool looking and do pretty decent damage when made raw. Not sure if they can be infused, I forgot to check that. Since I have a plethora of Soul Vessels, I'll do a balanced respec and try making them Mundane as well.
Yeah I have a good bit of Titanite and the various infusing stones too.
Lucatiel definitely got buffed. And I agree, Jester Thomas is a beast. he absolutely wrecks medusa girl with his pyro.
I don't know why felt the need to do boss nerfing, I thought they were just fine.Rod Woodson

Re: Dark Souls II
I got lucky and got one pretty early. If you're still not having any luck I can farm them a little and see if I can get another one. Then you could just summon me and I could just drop it for you. I see you're SL is 200ish, what's your SM? I know my SL is 152, just don't know my SM off the top of my head.

I'll attribute it to the BlackNGold luck boost. I'm with you on the bosses. They weren't any harder, they just required more patience. The Scorpioness in Shaded Woods took so many hits on NG+, really high defense. I brought out the Mastodon Great Sword for bosses like The Rotten and

Sometimes a weapon change is what's needed because some enemies are more resistant to particular damage types (crushing, slashing, stabbing, etc.) in addition to different elements.Rod Woodson

So I walked into the throne room in Drangleic. NOPENOPENOPE. I don't trust it so I went to finding a bonfire first.
Also adding the mad warrior helm makes my mage look like some wicked barbarian with the lion mage armor. Lol I love it.

Re: Dark Souls II
On another note, I(late, late game spoilers)Spoilertalked to Navalaan while farming Petrified Dragon Bones. Now I remembered the words of wisdom about not going anywhere near the lever, but I did talk to him while hollow. He asked me to murder people, which I accepted. He doesn't take the items from you, and you don't have to murder anyone.
- Wants ladder figurine from guy in Majula
- Wants Cale's helm
- Wants the Hexer near Huntsman's staff
- Wants the Emerald Heralds feather
With the exception of the ladder figurine, all the items stayed in my inventory and work fine still. He simply checked them as "proof" and I didn't even touch an NPC. Man he is an awesome character. He is amusingly evil, even with the evil laugh when you're done shopping with him.Comment
