I feel like every build I go with is just pure **** and I can't put my finger on why.

That being said, I have officially beaten the Pursuer (I know, I know... WAY behind where most of you are - but I'm terrible at this game.)

Still trying to debate on what weapons to go for - if I can even find some upgrades.

I literally just beat him, lol. I'm like lvl 62 and pretty lost on where to go. I'm just adventuring. I actually back tracked and stumbled upon him. Did you get the armor/sword set in that corner after the drop off?

What class are you? If you need some Knight armor, it looked pretty heavy so just assuming it's for a warrior/knight. Head back to where the fight was and on the second platform look down there's a landing. You should see it in the corner. Should help you out. I'm pretty sure my armor sucks but idk what armor I'm suppose to look for for swordsman :o

I got to the pursuer and formally retired from the game.

I been playing NCAA and my blood pressure has dropped dramatically. I have not adapted to this game's playstyle at all.

That's how I was with the few hours I pumped in DS1. If you go in thinking you're Kratos you're going to get wrecked. The game takes patience. I've spent 5+ minutes in front of a boss mist gate asking myself if I should return to a bonfire to level up, and fight my way back or risk losing my souls. I probably have 4+ hours logged in the gutter and really haven't made any significant progress in that area.

Use this thread and some other forums/videos for assistance.

When I encounter a new enemy I do this:
                  Close Space, evade, watch attack.

I repeat this twice to see the different combos that enemy has.

From this you can figure which way is the best to evade. Bigger enemies with vertical attacks I know I can roll left/right. Hotizontal sweeps let's me evade forward or back.

Hope this helps and gets you back in the fight.

I can appreciate the games difficulty. I can appreciate the challenge and the lack of formal directions by the game. Thats all good. Oldschool. But these bosses man. Seems like no matter how you level, they will always be absurdly overpowered relative to you. Which makes the win more satisfying I know. I just havent tasted that good feeling yet.

Im running a swordsman which is probably a dumb first timer build. Im thinking of re-rolling but I know these bosses will still be OP out the ***.

Im online but I havent done any multiplayer stuff yet. I wanted to get through at least 2 bosses before I tagged a partner in.

Right now I guess Im really trying to get the basics down. Still trying to figure which armor I should wear, what the letter grades on weapons mean, which swords I should hold in which hand. How much longer will I play before I destroy my playstation.

Just so many things I have to still figure out.

And wtf is with the respawn cap, and health decrease penalties? WTFbros? I was dying so much (like 3150 times) running around a bunch of turtle mace weilding beasts looking for the way. Then I notice some creatures are vanishing. Im thinking "OMG the game is showing mercy on me for sucking so bad. I suck so bad that the game is removing enemies each time I die! How epicly lame of me" But no, I was killing people too much so they figured I was farming? LOL I never even got to keep the souls I "farmed" Come on son!

Cleared the gutter and the following. No idea what to do now, still have the giant doors in the way that tell me to produce the symbol. I probably missed a hidden path somewhere, damn... It's gonna take a long time backtracking

I really feel this game is designed to be played with the whole community. I made more progress after watching 2 YouTube videos and the 30 minutes afterwards than in the previous 2 days combined.
