Also torches are on a timer. You need to find more to add to your time.

While they are lit? Or once you find one?

Once they're lit. They have a 15 min timer. I found a 2nd one and it only added 5 minutes. You can view the time through the inventory window or while it's lit near the weapon screen on bottom left.

I think the "easy mode" is when you die a few times the CPU takes an enemy out. I kept dying near cardinal tower and when I went down the ladder the patrolling spears man was gone and the mini boss on that ledge never showed up.

            On a side note:

I finally managed to get in that ambush hole, make it down stairs and the chest is trapped with some crazy crossbows of death when you open it.

There is no real "Easy mode" here to speak of, what you're experiencing is the game removes enemies after you've killed them 15 times. However, in doing so you miss out on any item drops they may have had.

There's an item that resets the enemies AND bosses. That bonfire thingy you can take as a gift.

What system are you guys playing it on? PS3 or Xbox? I have both, just not sure which version to snatch up this weekend. It's going to be me, DS2, hotwings and beer. The hotwings and beer is comfort food to help me cope with adding 800 deaths to the worldwide total.

I'm on PS3. But it seems from the message of the day the coop/invasions aren't working right yet. I've seen summon signs but haven't been invaded

This also permanently sets enemies in NG+ mode too.

I can handle the first stone knight but the one with the mace is really annoying me.

There's a game mechanic that when you kill certain enemies enough times, they don't come back unless you use a specific item. It's done so people can't farm souls as easily, I believe.

Or if you want to farm souls you burn that thing that brings them back and makes them harder (also brings back treasure or something, I'm not 100% clear). Basically gives you the option to do what you want, but makes you pay for it.

                                Without doing co-op.
