Re: The Witcher 3
Seems about right, honestly, you are trying to parkour up a sheer rock with a 90 year old man carrying 200+ lbs of weapons and armor.
Personally I am pretty happy they went more realistic with jumping, climbing, and falling. It took a second to get used to, but it was a refreshing change from jumping off cliffs and running up mountain faces.
If I can use Quen as a Witcher and take a blow from a steel sword or a blast from a troll, giant, dragon, etc... sliding down a few rocks from that distance shouldn't be too big of a deal. That's not the worst example of it.. I'm sure we have all experienced some "What the **** was that" deaths..
I won't try to convince anyone to feel how I do about it and I won't keep harping on it because I love this game, it's not even a game breaking, and being negative isn't what I'm trying to do.. just one of my few complaints about the game. It would be nice to see improvements in a patch down the road.Last edited by AUChase; 07-25-2015, 09:49 PM.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
Yesterday I got back into a groove after taking a break for Arkham Knight. I'm still in the first act and wandering through Skellige. I've managed to almost clear the main isle and have started venturing through the seas to the smaller islands.
I still just stop and look around at the landscape. The difference in topography and landscape in Skellige is amazing, but also how each clan/village is built and operates is wholly different than Velen and Novigrad. Skellige may be my favorite region of the world so far. Traveling from the top of a mountain nested clan hall, twisting through the village, walking to the shore, jumping into your boat to look back at this massive cliff jutting out of the water does wonders to make you feel like small ****.
Not to mention the Coronation sub-plot is pretty captivating and might be my favorite story line of the game thus far.
Sometimes I get the urge to just sprint through a couple main quests, but the world always entices me to keep wandering into each nook and cranny of the map. I really missed this game.

This is after Kaer Morhen, with the cuts scenes that were so badass and the action it really was awsome... don't think this is the end but damn sure feels like it I'm fightingSpoilerImlerith and dude is getting on my nerves, been trying to beat him for awhile. Tips anyone? He hits me while dodging or whatever, what in the hell am I supposed to do?Last edited by Sinner; 07-26-2015, 01:41 PM.-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

When he teleports just dodge, rinse, repeat. If you have rend, thats also a good skill because it breaks through blocks.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
SpoilerI'm going to have to put this down for a bit cause for me at least Axii is literally doing nothing against him. It doesn't stop him and he just keeps on coming.-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

Re: The Witcher 3
Captured a few clips yesterday of some random confrontations I had in Novigrad. The second clip contains some of the new finishing moves in the latest DLC I think.

Ok then. I started playing this morning, just settled in for some down time. Haven't been playing that long.
Wife= "Honey what do you want for dinner?"
Me= "Dinner? I haven't eaten lunch yet?"
Wife= "Well sucks to be you, its time for dinner"

Re: The Witcher 3
Ok I shut off the map but keeping the point of interests on. Oh man it feels like the world just opened up. It was overwhelming at first but surprisingly I got used to it rather quickly.
I do wish that they would have some sort of compass to just help me on which direction to face rather than opening the map all the time.Comment

You have to learn it and roll away - sometimes dodging doesn't move you enough. Then wait til he gets his mace stuck in the ground and heavy attack from behind once. Then get away and put up a Quen shield if you don't have it. Before he goes crazy at the end, I found his attacks easy to dodge. You just have to be patient and get your shots in.
Also, when he has his ice shield on (glowing white), burn it off with Igni.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
Almost lvl 32, game should be wrapped up by Friday for me...
I'm going to consider this a HUGE accomplishment for me with modern gaming.
It's been rare over the past few years that I become dedicated to a lengthy game. Then again, It's rare that a game suck me in and keep me coming back. I don't have any of my old hobbies here in Japan. In my free time it's either thee gym or PS4 usually.
Figuring out what to do next (despite my massive backlog) is going to be difficult. All I've known for the past few months is Geralt of Rivea and his story. I may venture into the books next.
The last game universe to suck me in this way was Mass Effect.Last edited by AUChase; 07-27-2015, 11:52 AM.Comment

I had that skill when I fought him, maybe that will help. You just need to damage him enough and a cut scene should occur.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
SpoilerI didn't have much of an issue. I just kept dodging, triggering Quen, and slashing.. When he went into the full rage I got tagged once or twice, but my Superior Swallow took care of that.
I will say.. The Crones were creepy as **** in that part of the story. I've got some weird, naked screen shots from that part.
I've built my character with mostly Quen, Axii, and Igni. I've only really used AARD for breaking down walls when necessary and YRDEN for Wraiths.
I'm also happy the story has made sort of a circle and I'm back in Velen/Novigrad for main story missions. This story was really well written. I hope I like my ending. I've been struggling trying to say the right things to Yen and Triss.
Ideally, I want Geralt to end the story with Triss. Something I did in a recent mission made me hopeful that is part of my outcome, but we'll see. I like Yen as a character, but for some reason me as a person likes Triss more. I shouldn't be so emotionally invested in a ****ing video game.
That part on Kaer Morhen when Yen kisses Geralt and Triss is looking on awkwardly made me wince a bit lol.
Ciri is really fun to use for me. I love her abilities in combat.Last edited by AUChase; 07-27-2015, 12:00 PM.Comment
