I guess I don't die often enough for them to matter one way or another. Considering how big the map is with no load times to enter buildings or to enter shops I think its a fair trade.

Re: The Witcher 3
Apparently it's very tough for me to be patient in video games. Usually I just go "attack attack attack" and succeed (thinking of AC specifically). But I learned quickly that does not work at all in this, and I've been dying less because of it.Comment

Not discounting it as I'm sure it does get annoying and frustrating just offering a perspective.

Re: The Witcher 3
Just reset the game & console/PC. Hopefully, the checkpoint save is after that fight. If not, you're just gonna have to redo it.
I just finished the Crones of Cookback Bog questSpoilerand I just experienced my first "AM I DOING THE RIGHT THING HERE?!?" moment. The spirit in the tree seemed to be good, but I wasn't 100% sure. I thought about tricking the spirit but decided to start the ritual and free her. When the horse suddenly had red eyes, I was like Gob and said "I just made a huge mistake." Then the Ealdorman cut off his ear and then I thought maybe I did do the right thing, letting that spirit free because those crones are shady too. Then I get back to the village and see them in the flesh (disgusting) and felt my choice was vindicated, until they said that spirit was an ancient evil. Few moments later, I found out they try to eat Ciri and give her to one of the Wild Hunt.
Basically, I've no idea if my long-term decision was right. Short-term though, I "saved" those orphans, screwed over the Crones' plans of possibly eating them, and I shall see what the future holds.
Damn this game is good.
Edit: I want Geralt to have Johnny as a traveling partner. That guy's great!Spoiler
I just finished that one too and felt the same way. I think it was the right call to free the spirit though. Especially after I saw how shady the witches were to Ciri. I think the horse is gonna come in handy at some point. And I knew something was off with a bunch of little kids living in the swamp.
The one thing I really love about this game is how each terrain has it's own feel to it. Spend enough time in the swamp/woods and it does things to you lol. Shadows from the trees playing tricks on you. Using your witcher senses and hearing **** move that sounds like it's right next to you. The cities and towns just feel dirty. Safe, but dirty. Nothin bad I can really say about this game so far.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
Man, screw that werewolf.
One fight and fire destroys him. Then I die. Next time and fire does nothing.
I'm going to attempt another quest. Spent my morning on him and it's the only real gaming time I have. Felt like I wasted a day.

Come back to him when you have found a better silver sword. It took me forever to find a silver sword to replace the one I started with. That was my main problem with him. I came back leveled up with a bad *** sword and cut him down with ease.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
You get more XP for doing main quests. I think it's important to do a good mix of both though. That way you're not overmatched doing either.
Usually I find myself doing a main quest or two. If it's a long one, I try to finish the story branch all in one sitting. And then I'll do 2 or 3 side quests... Witcher Contracts, Treasure Hunts, or just random quests.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
You're going to level up more doing the main quests. Side quests and exploring the ?'s are more important for better equipment and money - from contract payments or selling the loot you find that you don't need. You also find new formula for oils and potions doing side stuff.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 06-04-2015, 07:48 PM.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
SpoilerTravel to the City East of the Hanging Man Tree (forgot the actual name).
City is surrounded by water and the only way to get to it is swim or sail, but there's enough there to make the short trip worth it. There's some good armor and swords for sale.
There's also another herbalist North East of that city that has the instructions for the Dancing Star bomb (fire bomb). With that sword and bomb, I dropped the Werewolf fast.Comment
