Romance:
SpoilerTeam Yen...always. Triss and Geralt in the books were really minor, and really, the conflict only arises due to how close they are in the game series. That being said, Geralt dipped his wick with Shani, Keira, Syanna, the woman on Skellige, etc. all keeping with his book persona.
Ending:
SpoilerCiri as Witcher...again, as always. While Emyhr in the books has his plans for Ciri, and seemingly has the "Grinch's heart growing three sizes that day" at the end, Geralt can't stand him. Since I've only brought Ciri to Emhyr once, the whole Empress ending is usually closed off. I did accompany Ciri to the lodge meeting, but find it really hard to get the Ciri dies ending.
The main changes with this run were always accepting coin for contracts as it's Geralt's job, so I had his heart hardened with some of the sob stories. Tried to spare as many sentient monsters as I could as well. I still use Axii even though it's a game invention and expands the dialogue options, but for the most part was fully combat/alchemy build as there is little to no sign use in the books. I also had to finish some of the political plots, even if book Geralt tries to stay above the fray.
Novigrad:
SpoilerSpared Whoreson for the first time. Kind of liked how bottomed out he was in the end, but still felt dirty walking away from his house of horrors.
SpoilerSided with Djilkstra against Roche also for the first time, seeing it as the pragmatic option to save the Northern Realms vs. Roche's hotheaded Temeria first campaign. Book Geralt would not have done this quest. I have done all three options at this point: side w/ Djilkstra, side with Roche, and break Djilkstra's leg again locking out the quest.
Skellige:
SpoilerSided w/ Cerys as usual. Just think Geralt would go for more investigating and the "why" of the massacre versus revenge and blood rage. Don't think book Geralt would ever walk away due to him and Ciri's past relationships with Crach and Mousesack/Ermion. So no King Svanrige.
Hearts of Stone:
SpoilerAlways go after Gaunter, which I think book Geralt would as well. He'd want to avoid it and leave Olgierd to his fate, but would grapple with being an errand boy for a demon and would want to sever that link at all costs.
Blood & Wine:
SpoilerReally grappled with this one, but as a completionist I had the ribbon in the fairy tale world (followed my boy Regis' advice to help Syanna), so I had to put down Detlaff. Had the sappy ending where they all live but honestly think book Geralt would have the sisters die ending as it's more fitting and "real". That being said, Regis is one of my fave characters in the entire saga after the books.
I guess that's about it. I've seen how things branch from the above, and while I'm sure there's things I haven't seen on YouTube, I'm not sure I could ever play completely opposite my normal runs. It's not like the Mass Effect Trilogy where I felt satisfied going full Paragon, full Renegade, and then hybrid runs. Witcher feels more real and lived in, less gamey, if that makes sense.
Since I've finished I've run through Mass Effect: Andromeda (a backlisted game) and was profoundly bored and disappointed. 45 hours there seemed like an eternity! I've started up Horizon, another backlog, but caught my son nearing the end of the main quest on Switcher and just got those pangs again.
It's played out talking how great this game is at this point, but I honestly think I could be completely fine having the Witcher 3 as the only game in my collection. I always want to dive back in. I just completed my 5th playthru of the main story and I am now on to the DLC. After actually spending some time just riding around the World and doing stuff. For the first time ever my Quest list is empty except for the DLC missions. Every Witcher Contract is done and every "?" is gone. 150 hours just for the main quest and exploration. I just completed my 5th playthru of the main story and I am now on to the DLC. After actually spending some time just riding around the World and doing stuff. For the first time ever my Quest list is empty except for the DLC missions. Every Witcher Contract is done and every "?" is gone. 150 hours just for the main quest and exploration. Yup:
Hornwall horn is an item in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It may be placed in one of the pocket slots in the inventory panel, and activated at will to cause nearby sirens to drop to the ground. The horn was stolen from Hjalmar by one of his crew. It can be found near a warrior's remains, north of the Abandoned Village on Undvik, near the entrance to the trolls' cave. Ironically the item cannot be used while steering a boat, while a Crossbow can. Thus it's not very effective at warding off sirens...

Damn! I always clear out my quest logs, save for the Witcher gear I don't care about (Cat and Griffin). Not fast traveling as much this go around allowed me to hit a lot more of the ? marks, but I don't think I'll ever hit them all, though I did clear Toussaint. Outside of the places of power, is there any secret stuff to find other than lore scraps?
Yup even all of the ones in Skellige as well. I have all of the Armour and weapon sets. Everything is done. Playing the DLC now. Already thinking of another playthru.
