    Re: The Witcher 3

I'll take a wonderfully explicit and sincere statement like that any day at this point, over the same old 1 line BS we normally get a month before an expected release.

Like CMH just stated. Give us the best experience possible. A game of this magnitude will be worth the wait. At the price of a little patience.

Had they made a statement prior to this on a possible release?

I agree. CD Projekt is NOT EA Sport's Live Team (not trying to go off topic, but painting a contrasting picture).

As a developer/publisher/studio you have to be very careful on putting a game out too early or too late. Get us all hyped up for a game with screen shots, videos and such and put it out before it's even close to being good as an actual purchaseble game and you have probably ruined your crediblity with gamers for years if not for good.

On the flip side of that.. get us all excited and woodies for your game through posts, interviews, videos, screen shots, etc.. then keep dealying it only for the game quality NOT to live up the the number of delays and it will have the same effect on gamers. It's like you were dating a cute girl for a year, but she didn't give up the booty.. a year in, several dates, I love you's, $$$$$ spent and she finally gives it up and it's like doing a nun.. you want your year back LOL.

With CD Project though, they have A LOT of rope and crediblity with us Witcher fans. 1 and 2 were so awesome we are totally fine with them doing whatever they need to do with time, etc to make 3 as good or better than 1 and 2. It's not like 1 and 2 were crap and they stood up and made a big PR statement saying "Well we know 1 and 2 were crap, thats why we are taking more time to make 3 the most awesome thing ever!" *cough" nba live team.. *cought*.

Wither 3 will be awesome. And I will burn a week of vacation to play it.

I will says Witcher 1 combat still frustrates the heck out of me. Others have no problem with it at all but with 1, you're playing for the story and moral choices that move that story for as much if not more than the actual combat.

2 had much better combat and the game visually on PC just looks stunning. I think with everything cranked up it looks way better than even Skyrim (until you get those damn ENB mods for skyrim lol)

          3. Just looks flat out SICK SICK SICK. It's a must buy game. Period, hands down, even if you have to Rumplestiltskin your first born.. okay maybe not that sick..but you know what I mean lol.

There is no question about that, even on medium settings it looks better imo. Like you said, Skyrim doesn't look really good until you get a good ENB.

I thought the same. Feb 2015 is cool with me, should be enough out between now and then to hold me over.

I'm fine with it being pushed, but I'll always wonder why companies do this kind of thing. Why announce it so far in advance if you're only going to have to push it back, later? It's the kind of thing that kills hype (AKA Watch Dogs).

They never gave a firm release though. That letter is about as pinpoint as I've seen thus far other than giving a quarter 4 2014 estimate that had always been iffy.

That's true. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it would be a better move to overestimate how long it's going to take than to underestimate, marketing wise.

                          I agree here.

Rocksteady has been consistent with the Arkham series from what I recall.

They announce two quarters before release and the game has been on time twice. I'm assuming it will go 3-3 when Knight releases.

The Witcher 2 on pc is one of the best looking games I've ever seen and I've used some of the Skyrim ENB mods, it still looks better.
