    Re: The Witcher 3

Having never played the first two games I was a little worried that my hype for Witcher 3 was misplaced after my first couple of hours with the game. Now? I'm completely sucked in and in love. The world is just incredible. It almost feels like every little side quest could have been their own game. Amazing what the dev team and writers were able to do. And, I think it goes without saying how fantastic the graphics are.

As for the controls, while a bit twitchy (even with the sensitivity turned down), the fighting engine is a Hell of a lot of fun once I got my mind wrapped around what is what and got the timing down.

Great, great game... so glad I stuck with it and allowed myself to give it a real chance.

So if you're sensitive to that, I'd say PC. Assuming you have a good setup. Again, I'm happy as a consoler.

As for it having to be online? No. Not at least on PS4 or Xbox that I'm aware of.
Cool, thanks for the reply. I know I'd enjoy this game having played and been deep into Asheron's Call years ago but I hesitate to get it because I would probably stop playing everything else.

I've used it a few times. It's been pretty comprehensive so far. I mainly use it when I'm stuck in a quest. It's tough because of all the decisions and different choices you can make, but it does explain how different choices impact the quest at hand. I wish I had the full sized one personally, but for $5 it was hard to beat.

Feel the same way, just bought it earlier to day but seems really good. I haven't gone through all of it but it mainly seems to be about helping with quest. Does it have info on alchemy and crafting?

Yeah there are some good tips and tricks under Getting Started --> Witcher Training. But not specifics into where to find certain ingredients or anything.

                Hmmmm.

I guess I could just google where to find certain ingredients and components...

I'll either go with the eguide or get the deluxe one. 5 bucks is hard to beat

Man, I have to leave tomorrow until the 13th and I don't know if I can make it that long without this game. I thought vacations were supposed to be a good thing.

                    Re: The Witcher 3

So I decided to bump the difficulty up to the third hardest and I gotta say, I feel like a Witcher again. I'm prepping for battle now and actually hunting for food. It feels really fair. I was a level 11 when I made the jump.

Funny enough, Kirk Hamilton over at Kotaku shared a podcast he did and when he reviewed the game, he changed the difficulty from normal to hard at around level 9 or so and recommends everyone do the same because the early sections can be pretty tough on normal.

                    So far, so good.

This game has taken over my life.

                      Re: The Witcher 3

Just had a chance to play for the first time in a few days.

I know I mentioned the Werewolf here earlier in the thread and some guys posted what worked for them, but that **** definitely isn't working for me.

I'm barely inflicting any damage and by the time I recharge and can hit it with another sign to get in and attack It's well on it's way to regenerating.

I think I just suck at this game. My next strategy is going to be to charge the piece of **** with Igni and blades flying. No ****s to give now.. ha.

Lol. I died several times against him. I forget what it's called, but the sign that gives you the protective shield helped me.

FINALLY! After hours of bitching on Twitter and here and complaining to myself, I got that monkey off of my back.

I had to do some research. I did some traveling and searching to find a blacksmith with a better Silver sword for sale, found a herbalist that sold me the instructions for creating the Dancing Star Bomb, picked up some food just in case, and then headed back and made that Werewolf my bitch in a minute and a half.

This game really did make me work for that one. I almost wanted to drop the difficulty, but I never did.

The Crones of Crookback Bog are some of the creepiest characters that I've seen in a videogame. Very well done.

I know what you mean but on a lesser mob. I was fighting a bunch of little ghoul like things, can't remember what they really are and they killed me a few times. Finally slowed down my fighting style like mentioned before and made it through them finally after running a little distance and going back to killing them. I even met a big pack of wolves and they killed me a couple times...wolves!

Had a crazy moment yesterday I'm in Velen and just wondering around, see in the distance on the map a "?" so I'm like i'm going to check it out, get a little closer and it's treasure. I run up to it thinking I'll have a Wrath or Ghoul..no it was a bear. Ok I've fought and killed a bear before so no problem well this bear is level 12 and red....i'm only level 4....I turn to run like hell.

It didn't see me which was crazy, it had it's back to me and I had my sword drawn and everything. In getting away I go through some bushes and when I go through them ran off a damn cliff. Lol

I'm loving this game right now
