Decoys work well with the Medic, too, especially if you have extra cards in your discard pile you want to pull back out.

That Scorch infantry does wonders against Monster Decks.

Have you picked up the neutral 7 power front row card that puts scorch on the opponent's front row if it's over 10? Single most powerful card available IMO. Because you can decoy it and resurrect it since it's not a hero.
I want that scorch card. It's been wreaking havoc on me. I have 5 hero cards in my scoia'tel deck, but I am using the northern Realms deck. Pairing dandelion with vesimir is part of my strategy right now.

Do you have any Blue Stripes Comandos?

I eventually took Vesemir out. My Northern Realms infantry is fairly small outside of the hero cards.

I finally took those Blue Striped Commandos out of my deck because you have to draw multiples for them to be meaningful. Once you have all the spies and most of the heroes, you basically make it so you'll never lose the 3rd round unless you get incredibly unlucky with both your and their draws.

I haven't gotten the new deck yet, so I can't speak on that. But of the 4 originals, there is no reason to play with anything other than Northern Realms unless you are just looking for variety.

            I'm baaaack in Skellige, againnnn.

            *ahem*

So, last night I went around scrounging for Witcher Gear Hunts and have all of the diagrams from Novigrad, Kaer Morhen, and Velen. Starting with about 9,000 crowns I began upgrading all my Witcher gear sets. And kept upgrading. And upgrading. And upgrading until I ran out of crafting supplies (need some alchemy supplies for the Mastercrafted Ursine chest armor), but also until I ran down to about 100 crowns. I have 3/4 of the upgraded to Superior and one set of Mastercrafted.

With only a handful of storyline quests left I'm in the final stages of the game with the DLC on the horizon. I do have the Novigrad and Skellige fights, Skellige races, about 7 contracts left and a ton of ? marks.

My question is should I just be saving up my crowns and only focusing on upgrading one set of Witcher gear or does it not matter?

Wait, you're buying all of the Witcher gear as opposed to sticking with a certain class?

I've used all of the gear until I got the Wolven gear. I'm mainly crafting it "just to have" for my collection in B&W. I'm just curious if I will be hard pressed for coin in the DLCs.

You'll probably be hard pressed for coin in the DLCs if you're crafting all the wolf gear sets.

Two of the major pieces from the DLC cost a lot to upgrade if you're interested in doing so. I think all in all its about 60,000 to fully upgrade.

The Grandmaster sets in the new Blood and Wine DLC are also extremely expensive to craft. I'd recommend just sticking with one set you like but it's entirely possible to do it all, it will just take a lot of grinding.

Smart move, good luck with whichever path you choose, there are lots of different builds you can do with the different Witcher armors.

I'm sticking with medium build armor cause sometimes I like to tank and other times I like to swallow a potion and use all signs and bombs. Gives you the best of both worlds.

I've been rolling with the light armor and have a full set of Griffin gear. Just need the master crafted but haven't gotten to skellige yet.

I finished the game up last night at 2:30 AM. This was my Death March play through and I probably put in 100 hours and still have a handful of Contracts and Side Quests left - not to mention both of the expansions. Having already played through once (and Velen 2-3 times) it was surprising just how much of the game still felt fresh. Partly that's due to poor memory, but ultimately the narrative is so strong that just seeing a lot these scenes once is not nearly enough. Its like returning to your favorite TV show and going through those familiar moments again to pick up new nuances and see a bigger, more complete picture with an additional viewing.

With that said this Death March playthrough was fairly easy. Sure, I died a handful of times but those were times where I was lazy and rushed into a fight. I guess that speaks to the boy scout's tenant of being prepared, but dodge and parry make most of the fights manageable even before applying oils and equipping the necessary bombs. Still, the combat is a blast even after 200 hours of gaming in the boots of Geralt.

                              The ending:

                              Spoiler

I cannot decide if I want to mope around completing the few Witcher contracts I have left and clear some more undiscovered locations or just to jump in to Hearts of Stone to get my mind off of the void that the ending now leaves me with.
