Yeah, I'll be honest, I haven't even started the single player. Went straight in the multiplayer, it is an absolute blast. No aim assist is heavenly.

Re: Killzone: Shadow Fall
I beat the single player earlier today and I must say that this is weakest link storymode wise in the Killzone franchise. I just couldn't really get into it no matter how much I tried. The weighty, gritty cover based shooting is what made KZ 2&3 feel unique to me and this just felt like a brightly colored standard FPS starring Helghast I love the franchise and I think the Helghast are one of the coolest enemies in gaming right now but I'm kind of glad Guerrilla Games is moving to a new IP after this.
But the multiplayer is a lot of fun and I can already tell I will be putting much more time into this than I ever did into KZ 2/3's MP.
Another issue that I have with this game is that the open world structure just doesn't work. I wish they would of kept with the linear world that they had from the previous games. There are 6 more chapters to go and we will see how I feel by the end.Comment

Re: Killzone: Shadow Fall
I played every Killzone previously. I Was not impressed by any of them. I just plodded through them because the graphics were nice and I love shooters. But ShadowFall? This has my undivided attention. The story is interesting (not great) but it's enough to keep me engaged. The graphics are STUNNING. No seriously -STUNNING. And making the combat more "crysis" like is a welcome change. And the hidden gem? That friggin owl. I LOVE IT! That thing is the best AI partner I haver EVER had in a shooter. It has saved my hide many times. It's actually very useful in so many ways. And I have a companion without the silly "banter" that comes with a real partner in video games. I am only in Chapter 4 but this gets a BIG thumbs up from me.
I tried ONLINE last night. I am not a big online guy and I suck really really bad - but I had a BLAST. Smooth as silk ONLINE. Every weapon unlocked at the start? THANK YOU.Comment

Re: Killzone: Shadow Fall
I finished the SP earlier today and I feel a bit mixed about the direction that Guerrilla took with this game. I have played all of the KZ games so far except for the the new one on the Vita. I think part of my issue originally is that they took such a different approach to KZ with Shadow Fall. Considering that the ending really has some interesting possibilities for a sequel, I do hope we do see some of the old atmosphere return to the series. I kind of missed the squad mates and the atmosphere of a war in the previous games. I think the sequel will give us that based on what happened, but who know.
That ending was quite strange.SpoilerSo Lucas gets killed by Sinclair at the end of Chapter 9, and then it looks like Echo is the lead in Chapter 10. I like Echo and think she is a better character, but boy does these Sony studios love to kill off their leads in games. **cough cough** Resistance **cough cough**. I just found it out that they would kill off their main character. With the assassination of Sinclair, I take it the war is going to start all over again.
I played a little bit of MP afterwards, it is just as good as KZ2 and 3 if not better. I like it that finally there are more people playing this time around.Comment

Re: Killzone: Shadow Fall
A couple of early impressions:
- I like the single player a lot more than I thought I would. It feels like a relatively open world with lots of different ways to achieve my goals.
- I got on MP and there were only about 1,000 people on. Is that normal for this series? That seems really low.
- I've never understood why FPS's have weird point systems for team deathmatch instead of just doing a direct 1 kill = 1 point. Is there something I'm missing here?
- It's really hard to get friends in your party. It seems like an odd choice not to just include a more straightforward party system.
- That said, the gameplay is really, really fun. Not to mention, the game is gorgeous. I could definitely see myself playing this one for a while, but it's going to take a lot of adjusting.Writer for Operation Sports

Re: Killzone: Shadow Fall
1,000 people is good for this series. But, yeah I was hoping for more considering this was just launched.
I guess it will always have a cult like following. I am fine with that. As long as there is at least 100 people playing at all times, I am good.
Warzone is the greatest game mode ever in a FPS. IMHO, of course.Last edited by LingeringRegime; 11-24-2013, 11:05 AM.Comment

Re: Killzone: Shadow Fall
I havent played multiplayer yet but I started the single player campaign last night. This is my first Killzone game ever so I came in without any expectations or previous KZ game to compare it with. I LOVE THIS GAME. It looks awesome, sounds awesome, everytime you kill a baddie, you feel like you accomplished something due to the face that you truly have to aim and hit those ****ers lol.
The game is hard though LOL. At least to me. I spent an hour trying to progress past that part early on where you plant the C4 on the downed ship. THAT part is not a problem. It's going to plant the other explosives. I always get found, then the ship comes in to drop off reinforcements, and I cant get my dam drone to that thing fast enough to hack it so the reinforcements stop from coming in lol.. so I just went to bed.. at 4am lol.
This game is amazing though__________________________________________________ ____

Re: Killzone: Shadow Fall
I am glad they have online and offline bots because even if the community dwindles at least people will have different ways to play. Plus bots are great for people that don't want to deal with the online headaches as well."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

Ok. I really love the multiplayer in this game. I honestly didn't know if I would. At first I was on the fence but I've really grown to love all of its finer points. Sure it looks great and runs smooth, but it's really fun. I had moments tonight where it was just complete chaos. I was literally wondering what was going on. We had two guys reviving people. They had someone reviving people. It was a battle of man power all in one area of the map. All of this was happening at the last search and destroy generator during the fifth warzone (2-2 game) match. It was just intense.Comment
