Based on the recent gameplays on youtube of the final game that people are uploading, the game doesn't look as bad as I thought or as bad as the trailers. I still don't expect much and it doesn't look good either. Just a decent looking game. Might be worth getting when it drops down to 25-30 bucks.Comment

Re: The Walking Dead Survival Instincts
Watching a bit of it, I think this game, conceptually could have been big if it were supported by a big studio and publisher.
Unfortunately Dead Island is pretty much has that market on lock for this year. Oh wellz.
EDIT: Activision published this? Why wouldnt they make sure the thing was big time?Last edited by kingkilla56; 03-19-2013, 12:28 AM.Comment

Re: The Walking Dead Survival Instincts
I can't help but feel Activision has dropped the ball on this.
I mean, is there a bigger IP than this right now? And is this IP not just screaming for a great Video Game companion/series?
Why not go full bore with this, instead of $50 shovel-ware...
I just don't get it.GT: Event Horizon 0Comment

Re: The Walking Dead Survival Instincts
So far it went like this:
First screen...I can't see very well,I better turn up the brightness.
-Turns up brightness...game crashes.-
Reset.
Start playing.
Look around for N64 expansion pack to improve graphics.
Zombie to trigger scene bugs out. Plays anyway.
Nice presentation and voice acting.
Walk around opening area to collect stuff while NPC repeatedly shouts "we need to come up with a plan" over and over and over and over and over and over. Voice acting perhaps not so nice.
Move on to the town.
Get entirely lost and go around in circles.
Finally find right way to go.
Zombie stuck walking against an open door.
Go to next building over, open double doors, close it behind me,no way into the rest of it.
Open door to get out...zombie stuck hitting other door of the double doors and breaks it.
Kill zombies.
Go to parking lot around back.
Press RB to execute zombie...does shove instead.
Press RB to execute zombie again because the prompt came up again. Zombie bugs out and game crashes again.
Reset again.
Back AT THE START OF TOWN.
Turned it off.
I'd be demanding a refund at this point but I rented it.Comment

Re: The Walking Dead Survival Instincts
Eh..
Let me start off by saying:
I own the comics, love the show with the wife, love anything zombies...
But this.. :\
SpoilerThis is like coming back from war to find your high school sweetheart sucking d for hot dog water. This is bull. They just slapped the title on this game and figured they could pimp it dry. I can't even pretend to like this game and i play nearly anything.
I don't know how the licensing and game making process works, but I can't believe that in 2013 anyone associated with TWD would appreciate this type of title to be associated with it. On the first mission I swear there are only two different zombie faces. This is awful. I can't even believe they would put a game like this out at 50 dollars. This looks, and plays like a DLC game. I rented for 5 nights and not sure if i'll even play it again.5Comment

Re: The Walking Dead Survival Instincts
Watched the IGN live webcast of them playing the game and just looked so crappy. At the same time I can see a good game buried under there, but they didn't have the time or resources to actually make the game a good one. Sad.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: The Walking Dead Survival Instincts
Gave it another shot. Technical issue free this time...that zombie stuck trying to walk out an open door appears to have been one that was supposed to be outside and be walking in. However this game still stinks worse than that pile of flaming zombies from the last episode of the show.
Inventory system is terrible.
Has the same trigger issue as RE 6 where if you think they're gonna come up you can't kill them in advance. In fact I did the task stealthly and it STILL triggered everything. Alternatively they respawn which is equally idiotic.
I think I've said one game in history was too easy. I don't believe in such a thing. But in a horror based game there has to be tension or stuff has to be fun to kill. It fails at both. You either end up screwed by having 8+ straight QTE grapples that are extremely unresponsive or it's effortlessly easy.
Stealth kills don't seem to change if you change weapons.
Also there was no instruction book with the game.
Here's the "ending"...

This is a complete and utter piece of ****. They need to be paying us for this game not the other way around. As I recently said in another post game companies need to be held responsible for these types of games. If you're going to put out inexcusable **** like this without us being able to demand a refund for it you need to eat a whole load of shut the **** up with regards to used games. You don't deserve any money. Speaking of which if you must buy this for any reason what-so-ever (need everything Walking Dead, want every zombie game out there) buy it used. If you do buy it don't even bother wasting a second playing it.Comment

Re: The Walking Dead Survival Instincts
Lmao, sounds like I might've wasted a slot even renting this from how these impressions sound. I'm still kind of eager to get my hands on the game though. It can't be that bad...can it?Comment
