I'll have to agree, I found Second Son really hard to get into. It was probably the prettier game of the two, but SS was just so bland.

I would have to agree with your assesment. Like I said earlier in the thread, best single player FPS since original Bioshock.

Sounds like the way I felt about WatchDogs.

Think I'm in Chapter 6 or 7 now on Wolfenstein. Good game, though at least for now, I wouldn't put it on the same level as Bioshock games. Very good game though. Bethesda pays a lot of attention to detail in their environments. Love all of the news postings that are left around to describe the story. Only problem I have is they are SO small and difficult to read. Have to get right up to the screen on a 55 inch TV to read them.

I'd rate the Dead Space games better than this right now, to the poster who said this is the best FPS game since Bioshock. That's me though.

I'd say this is roughly the same quality, perhaps a bit higher, than a game called Singularity. I always said Singularity would have been the Bioshock of last generation if there were no Bioshock. Great game, and manipulating time to solve puzzles (though limited) was pretty darn cool.

Wolfenstein is a decent game don't get me wrong, but in comparison to the games such as the first Bioshock, I don't think it's anywhere near that standard IMO.

Playing a mission where you pick up recordings as you go (or they are given to you as you progress). Didn't realize I was accumulating them until I hit the big PS touch button and went to the screen where one was playing. Problem is it was the 5th one. So.... I scrolled back and hit X to see if the others would play, and they did, so I went back to first and hit X. Apparently, I hit X a LOT, and it queues up and plays EACH time you hit X. So I had about 3 or 4 different recordings playing at once, and several being repeated. It's been 5 minutes and the thing is still running / playing. lol

Was starting to think I was getting decent at shooters, then I hit the level with the trains (chp 12'ish). There's one section where you have to fight a lot of Nazis and several of the Heavy Machine Gunners. Not a problem, I can fight through them, but it takes awhile. Only after you kill them can you try to get the Enigma code that takes a bit of platforming to obtain. During which I've died like 5 times falling off a ledge... Arghhh!!!! Everytime he falls off a ledge he says something like 'This is a stupid way to die'. heh

I got sidetracked when Watch Dogs came out, but I popped this back in and finished it up. I only played on normal difficulty, but there were definitely a handful of tricky spots in the game. Props to you guys that went for an even greater challenge. Very good game. Now that I'm done with this, it's on to The Last of Us.

Finished the game tonight. Thought most of the game was great and the gunplay is some of the best in recent years. Dual wielding those autoshotguns were the best. Especially running and then sliding past a group of guys while unloading clips as you slide by.

My only complaint would be

The final boss fight. Don't know when shooters will learn, but boss fights in FPSs are almost never fun. Deathshead's first form was fine, but the 2nd stage of it I died a few times on it, mostly just from the area being nearly impossible to navigate without running through fire. I wish they gave a life bar on him just to try and manage my health better in that fight.

I liked to other boss fights though. Though the London Mortor was a good fight. The first phase of Deathshead was fine too. Mainly because it didn't consist of emptying your clips into them.
