Re: Single Player Campaigns That You Didn't Finish
My TV messed up and wouldn't show the sides of the screen, right in the middle of Lost Odyssey.. Couldn't see life bars or navigate through the menus because couldn't see much of anything.. After I got a new TV I just couldn't get back into the game even though I loved it when I did play it.Last edited by DakkoN; 05-08-2013, 11:54 AM.Comment

Re: Single Player Campaigns That You Didn't Finish
I am amazed by how many people haven't finished that many games. I finish every game I buy 1st before I even attempt to play the online part of the game. This thread just proves why companies strictly focus on online play and shafts the single player experience. Nobody seems to care about the offline mode of games anymore.Comment

Re: Single Player Campaigns That You Didn't Finish
This thread has really got me thinking. There are some great games I have finished this generation, but there are soooooo many that I haven't finished. So, I went to my trophies list on PSN to help myself remember. I also looked at my XBOX game history.
There are just so many games I started playing and got bored halfway through and quit playing. I'm about to add Hitman: Absolution to the completed list. The story for a game just has to be fun for me or I will likely never finish it. I would rather play some Battlefield Multiplayer, NHL, or NBA 2k over a lot of games these days.
This is also why I never buy games new anymore. The list is also influenced by me using Gamefly for a while. I'm trying my best to start buying games for around $30.00 and not buying anything else until they are beat.
Call of Duty Black Ops
Call of Duty Black Ops II
Lost Planet 1 & 2
Assassin's Creed
Assassin's Creed 2
Need for Speed Most Wanted
Driver: San Fransisco
Uncharted 1
Uncharted 2
Deus EX
Darksiders
Final Fantasy XIII
God of War III
Just Cause 2
Medal of Honor (as short as it was)
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
Resident Evil 5
Bioshock
Bioshock 2
Socom 4
Fallout 3
Fallout New Vegas
Skyrim
Drag Age Origins
Some notable games I HAVE COMPLETED
Spoiler
Max Payne 3
L.A. Noire
Mass Effect 1-3
Heavy Rain
Mafia 2
Red Dead Redemption
Quantom of Solace (007)
Blood Stone (007)
GTA IV
Mortal Kombat
Homefront
Halo 1-4
Modern Warfare 1-3
COD World At War
Battlefield Bad Company 2
Battlefield 3
Batman Arkham Asylum

Re: Single Player Campaigns That You Didn't Finish
I'm with the group of people whose list of games completed would be far, far shorter than those I've not completed. For whatever reason, most games don't hold my interest very long these days.
I'm finding I either go back and play the "classics", short games that are based on runs (like The Binding of Isaac) or games like Trials where you're just racing and unlocking tracks as you go - not really completing some sort of campaign.
Most recent games I've purchased, I've gotten bored within hours - or just got bored of before I ever finished them. These include:
Skyrim, Borderlands 2, Far Cry 3, Diablo III and X-Com.
Those are just the newer games - not games that are several years old.
The amount of games I've actually finished in the last decade (for the first time) could probably be limited to most of the newer GTA games except for IV, Red Dead Redemption, the Half-Life series, and maybe a few other games here and there.
I'm working on finishing GTA IV now. It's a bit of a grind, and I really just want to go back to SR2, but with GTA V coming out, I just sort of feel the need to at least experience the story.
I've also found I'm watching play-through's on YouTube more often these days. Like with the new Bioshock - I've no interest in playing it, but I'm watching it just to see what happens.Last edited by st67; 05-09-2013, 10:18 AM.Comment

The reason I don't typically finish single player campaigns is because most games have a rinse and repeat feel to them and can't keep me entertained long enough to finish. There are plenty of games I finished this generation, but they all have excellent stories to go along with them.
A game like Heavy Rain, that didn't even have multiplayer, was good enough to warrant multiple playthroughs for me and many other people.
Games with a quality story will still sell just for the story. Just look at all the excitement a lot of people have about The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, and Grand Theft Auto V.
It's sort of a "what came first, the chicken or the egg" type debate.
I have been making a better attempt to finish my games. I just wrapped up Hitman and now I'm making myself go back to Assasins Creed 2 to finish that.Comment

Re: Single Player Campaigns That You Didn't Finish
Hell it is the same way with sports games. If there was no online in sports games, most people wouldn't even buy it because they refuse to play the flawed CPU. Look how many online leagues on OS alone for NBA 2K, Madden, NCAA, Tiger Woods, NHL and FIFA.
I know a lot of people who couldn't tell you what the story line is even about for Gears of War series, Halo series, Call of Duty series or Battlefield series because they never played the single player, all they play is online. Servers down for the game, guess what most people do, they take the game out and put in another game to play online.
Let Xbox Live or PSN be down, people wouldn't even turn on their console until they hear the network is back up. Hell just look at these forums as soon as a game comes out that has online play. The 1st question people post on here is how is the online play ? Is there a lot of people playing this game online ? If not I'm not buying this game.Comment
