I dont see the problem with the minions...sure they are an easy kill but they dont offer much in terms of points to the game score and they can help you out by distracting an enemy. Ive yet to see some one on top of their team in terms of the score because of minion points so I believe player vs. player skill will still be key in this game.

I don't think the minions are perfect by any means but I think they do offer something, from the games I played they seem to be more efficient attacking you if you're in a Titan instead of on foot. If you're on foot it's like they don't even see you.Texas Rangers/Saints/LSU/Tottenham Hotspur

Exactly. It would be so much better if they just were not there. I know they are not there to contribute but they are there just to make it seem like the battlefield is more intense. But like you said it just comes off as a distraction. I would be playing all day if they were not there. I played a little earlier got to lvl 7 and kind of just said whatever and moved on to other things. They really hurt the game IMO.Comment

Re: Titanfall (Xbox One/360/PC)
Like I said above, I'm not sure saying they do not contribute is adequate. Try to take control (hack) of the enemy minions and see what happens. You can take control although I forget how to do it.Last edited by LBzrule; 02-15-2014, 01:31 PM.Comment

You can hack them but it just gives your side more ineffective minions and it takes like 4 seconds to do. 4 seconds where you are a sitting duck.Comment

Re: Titanfall (Xbox One/360/PC)
I think people are missing the point of the minions. The idea of them is they help the game score keep ticking over. They aren't in the game to pose a threat to you. I'm a big fan of Dota so I'm used to these sort of minions being in games. They hold much more importance in MOBA games but they share similar sort of purpose as if you can take out a lot of these minions you can really contribute to your team even if you aren't killing enemy pilots. 6 vs 6 is perfect with the minions, it has a crazy amount of action still with the Titans. If it was 12 vs 12 with no minions, the game would just be a crapfest of Titans which wouldn't me fun.NFL - Giants]

Re: Titanfall (Xbox One/360/PC)
I feel like I only have two or three human vs. human fights in any given match. The rest of time, it's just mowing down brainless bots with an auto-lock, one-click-kill pistol. Where is the challenge or fun in that?
It's like playing Unreal Tournament '99 offline on easy difficulty for the majority of the game. I guess they made it like this so little Johnny and little Jimmy wouldn't get frustrated when they take the game online for the first time and inevitably get destroyed by more experienced players.Last edited by jyoung; 02-15-2014, 02:43 PM.Comment

TitanFall's maps just feel too big for a 6 vs. 6 player loadout. If the developers were worried about 12 vs. 12 or 24 vs. 24 turning into all-out Titan warfare, all they would have to do to prevent that from happening is slow down the rate at which you unlock your Titan or put some limits in place for how many Titans could be deployed at once.Comment

Re: Titanfall (Xbox One/360/PC)
The difference between TitanFall's implementation of bots and a game like Monday Night Combat (also 6 vs. 6 with bots) is that Monday Night Combat's maps are small enough to make it feel like human opponents are always around you.

All this complaining about the minions boils down to people not yet being over their preconceived notion that this would have massive player counts, and it doesn't.Now playing
