Doubtful judging by Frankie's teases on GAF and that they learned a lot as a new studio coming off Halo 4. I wouldn't want Halofield either.

Pre-Reach, Halo was the closest thing to an arena FPS on console. Halo was unique, then the franchise stopped being a leader and became a follower. Halo 4's nosedive on the Xbox Live activity chart only a couple months after release and over the past year (out of the top 5, then out of the top 10, and for a couple months out of the top 20 while Reach and Halo 3 where on the list, Halo 3 was ahead of Halo 4 in October) shows just how badly 343 missed the mark with the multiplayer. Nothing wrong with change, but you can't blindly follow the market leader expecting that fanbase to suddenly take notice while alienating your own core fanbase in the process.

Yeah, this is pretty spot on. I told my friend last night that it might be in 343's best interest to take 1 or 2 of each games' best maps and put them in the game to start. Not to mention, they have to get back to a competitive ranking system. Halo shouldn't be a game where everyone succeeds -- and that was what kept people playing. If you weren't good, you tried your *** off to get better. If you were good, it was incredibly rewarding to play (and sometimes beat) against people of your own skill level.

I'm not banking on the MP being good, but I'll still look forward to the campaign no matter what.

It was concept art that they posted a while ago (on halowaypoint I think) saying that it was representative of what they are aiming for.

Voice of Master Chief confirms Halo 2 Anniversary, says Halo 5 won't release this year

In an interview that will publish soon on GameZone, Steve Downes, the long-time voice of Master Chief, told us we shouldn’t expect to see Halo 5 in 2014, but that the series will still see at least one release this year.

“I think you may be ahead of yourself on Halo 5,” Downes said. “I wouldn’t expect anything until 2015. What you can look forward to this year is an anniversary edition of Halo 2.”

                    Re: Halo 5

Halo and Halo 2 are the best of the series. Everything since then has just been the typical lets make money off of a quality name. The story has sort of started to trail off and become meh. The gameplay is taking too many changes to be like other games.

I think they should have stopped at a trilogy and then M$ should have allowed bungie to make another IP instead of forcing them to keep making Halo.

Halo 5: Guardians announced, fall 2015 release

Making a “Halo” game that runs at 60 frames per second, on dedicated servers, with the scope, features and scale we’ve been dreaming of for more than a decade, is non-trivial. It’s a task that we, at 343 Industries, are taking very seriously to ensure we deliver the “Halo” game that fans deserve, and a game that is built from the ground up for Xbox One.

I’m happy to reveal that “Halo 5: Guardians,” the next installment in the legendary saga of the Master Chief, will launch on Xbox One in fall of 2015. In the tradition of every “Halo” game since its debut in 2001, it is a massive and exciting project.

“Halo 5: Guardians” is a bigger effort than “Halo 4.” That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what’s now a brand new and more powerful engine. Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we’ve invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen.

It’s a game that will hopefully demonstrate the talent, learnings and abilities of the 343 Industries team. A game that will incorporate the things we learned from “Halo 4” about technology, aesthetics, performance and scale – and perhaps more importantly, understanding and embracing a community of gamers who love what lies at the heart of this game, and the limitless potential of the “Halo” universe.
Many fans noted that I was very deliberate with my phrasing on stage at E3 last year. I spoke about a “journey,” rather than a destination – and that journey definitely begins in 2014 with a giant leap, rather than one small step. We’ll give you much more information about our plans for this year at the Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing on June 9, and we’re confident that “Halo” fans will be pretty excited about the special plans we have in store.

So until E3, I’d like to express my gratitude to our massive and varied Halo community, whose energy, enthusiasm, criticism and kindness are the driving force behind what we do and what we hope to achieve in “Halo 5: Guardians.”

                        Well... hell.

Will only "jump in" if there are a few more games I want.
                        Maybe a Halo edition system.

So looking forward to E3. I guarantee a Halo 2 Anniversary edition for the Xbone but I am hoping that we can finally have a Halo game to match the massive Halo Lore. ODST and Reach were probably the 2 best story driven Halos released. Halo 1 being behind them.

Some things I noticed is that other Spartan had a ONI symbol on its right shoulder. Based on that I have a feeling that the Chief may leave "somehow disobeying orders" to look for Cortana and ONI may send one of their own (Or maybe everyone) after him to bring him back. That or maybe he is a new Spartan 5 (Spartan 4's being in Halo 4) that is being sent after him or maybe chief gets a armor upgrade. We will see.

No matter which one of those get released, I'm getting it day one, but I hope they model the multiplayer after Halo 2's set up. And if it is a 1-4 box set, have every multiplayer map from each game available.

If the MP is anything like the cluster**** load out style thing they had going in Halo 4, I'm not interested. Halo 4 was not fun at all.

I haven't genuinely enjoyed a Halo MP since 3. Since then, Reach had a fun campaign and so did 4, but the MP was boring.
