Nope. Because most that will be playing it know what game they are getting into. Like I said its a certain type of game. You fight a level 5 enemy at level 1 you will unload and unload. Fight him at level 5 and you will notice quicker kill time. Fight it at level 10 and you will destroy him.

Its all based on level difference and gear difference. Making things easy to kill or quicker to kill will completely ruin the leveling/gearing/core aspect of the game.

Count me as someone who was unaware of how this game would play.
Seeing that it was a Tom Clancy title I thought I was in for a realistic game.

I may cancel my pre-order now.
The premise of this game sounded really cool and I was really hoping for a free-roam tactical shooter.
But this is basically Halo/Destiny in a real world setting. Not exactly what I wanted.

Too bad Amazon won't allow me to swap the title for something different.

That would be Ghost Recon Wildlands.

The base building amounts to spending the resources (I forget which) to upgrade to the next level of medical bay which in turn unlocks the next level on the healing tree.

Good grief...the base building is so simple a monkey could do it. It's not like Fallout.

I really wish those who didn't try the Alpha wouldn't write this off so easily so soon.

I can definitely understand why people could be caught off guard. The Tom Clancy logo typically means a certain certain type of gameplay.

I hope people get a chance to try it out before deciding either way.

See, here's the problem though. This game has a ton of misconceptions and while many thinking them may be wrong, the fact is Ubi's presented this game wrong from the start. Then they have a closed alpha on XB1 only and now a closed beta for preorders only. What's my incentive to buy the game when I have to jump through hoops to beta test it? I know, I can easily get a beta code from Amazon, but that's not the point. It's almost as if Ubi doesn't want everyone to try out the game and hope people blindly buy it, which also worries me.

                      Well said.
After reading the above article, my opinion of the game has improved.

I'm looking forward to trying the Beta and seeing how it fits to my tastes.

I'm a pretty terrible at games so I don't want a shooter that's impossible to play for more than 10s before dying from one shot.
But I'd like something that's closer to RB6, or at least between that and Destiny.

Oh well, no use complaining now. Might as well try the Beta and go from there.

                        Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4)

The first thing they did was present this game like it was some kind of survival shooter. This of course is hidden behind the Clancy name. That definitely mattered, especially with the host of shooters being almost identical in nature, linear, COD copycats, etc...

I played the beta and im still not blown away....on the fence mainly because I want another shooter.

It feels better than it looks but I wonder how long its going to take to start feeling old on later levels or whatever with this stuff.

The Dark Zone is going to have alot of foolery going on. Doesn't matter if there is a bounty on someone when you have 500+ people doing the same thing. If they're banking on people just playing it (linear) and care about other strangers completing objectives that's not going to happen...

It's fun playing with a team of course, and im a big fan of Co-Op.. I just don't know how I would enjoy this SP with the way things are set up.

There is no crouch, just hit a button to duck behind cover because you're pretty much going to take all those accurate AI bullet shots if you don't and even then you'll take a few

The base building is just simple base missions. Basically rescue this person in a side mission to unlock this wing, do these missions for medical wing upgrades, etc. It essentually helps your character by giving them unique passives/gear.

I mean I dont really see how they have presented the game wrong. I mean in the E3 videos it shows that enemies dont go down quickly or that you got abilities and such per-se.

I seen you post this multiple times in this thread (Maybe I am confusing you with someone else) and I just dont see it that way. There were a good number of people in the Alpha and while there are some that were killing each other in dark zones there were way more that cautiously approach then leave without firing a shot. Not sure why you think it be all shoot first especially since you lose levels fast in Dark Zones by doing that (going rogue) preventing you from getting the good Dark Zone loot.

Not to mention say you and I are in a DZ together. You go rambo and betray everyone killing me in the process. I come back to kill you in retaliation but you kill me say 3 more times, I come back the forth time and kill you. You would lose a crap ton of DZ XP once you die (can actually decrease in DZ levels) and I would gain a huge amount by killing a rogue agent.

Only time that killing someone else if Beneficial would be to steal someones gear while they are extracting and then managing to extract (Get out of the darkzone alive) but often times it isnt that easy.
