5 hours to beat the game? OK,so what..I'm not watching any more vids as I am picking the game up Friday....but was it mentioned 5 hours to beat, and 10 hours to plat?

My point was here is a playthrough, and a link to it. No reason to get defensive.

So I see you didn't answer my question....was it also mentioned it takes 10 hours to plat the game?

            Re: The Order: 1886

Five more days to go and after watching the first chapter which was an hour long the other day on youtube, im definitely looking forward to playing The Order: 1886. From what I have read, the game will take 12-15 hours to complete. If you rush through the game and skip everything that can be skipped, it's around five hours from what I have read. Of course, on a first play through, I don't see or understand why anyone would want to do that.

Based on impressions from those who have the game on NeoGaf, im definitely more pumped for the game especially since it's just a few more days away as opposed to a month or so ago as I tend to wait until the game is closer to launch before getting hyped up as I always prefer going in with low to average expectations because I usually enjoy the game a lot more than I would if I have high expectations.

For $48 (Best Buy GCU), I think that it's definitely worth a purchase based on what I have read and seen. Also, it's a new IP and Ready At Dawn's first true console game and if the game does good, rumors have it that Sony will buyout Ready At Dawn and make them an exclusive second party.

Overall, I think that the game itself will be around the 8-9 range. The gameplay looks solid but nothing new or innovative but at the same time, 15 months into the eighth generation, the only thing that I have seen innovative gameplay wise was the Nemesis system in Shadow of Mordor. Everything else is basically been there, done that.

With that said, the visuals, characters, story, atmosphere, immersion, music, sound and voice acting will be more than enough to carry "solid but nothing new" gameplay in my opinion. It's also the first major exclusive for PS4 for 2015 and the first major exclusive since Infamous: Second Son. Best of all, no multi-player or co-op crap. Purely a single player experience. Definitely pumped for The Order: 1886.

Side note: For those who don't think the game is worth $48, it depends on if you're a collector or not. I stopped collecting games two generations ago and cleared out all my stuff time and time again after buying and selling numerous times. I made the decision to stop collecting. For those who are the same, don't forget that you can always trade in the game once you're finished with it. Not being a collector anymore and being a GCU member allows me to purchase more games to try, play and complete than I normally would have back then. That in itself is worth it in my opinion as trying out more games is nothing but a positive in my opinion.

              Re: The Order: 1886

Did a quick search and found more info.....surprise,surprise.....

Here’s How Quickly You Can Beat The Order: 1886 if You Skip Everything You Can

There have been wildly varying accounts on the length of The Order: 1886, but a full playthrough has finally been posted by YouTube user PlayMeThrough, and it’s pretty interesting, because it’s basically a “bare minimum” walkthrough. He doesn’t stop to examine any of the many story-related items that can be found around the game, and almost never dies.

The full playtime accounts to about five hours and a half, which definitely puts to rest the “rumors” about the game being three hours long. And that’s without enjoying a lot of the content included in Ready at Dawn’s title.

On the other hand, cutscenes cannot be skipped, as they have a lot of interactive elements within. We also learn that you can change difficulty dynamically at any time while you play, without needing to restart a chapter.

Interestingly, PlayMeThrough himself mentions that the game feels “much longer than it really is,” which is often the case with heavily story-driven games.

Of course, that’s not the time a normal user will take to complete the game, as many would probably need to try quite a few challenging parts a multiple times to achieve this kind of “perfect run,” and most will stop and catch the story clues, which take a reasonable amount of time (and some are absolutely hilarious, especially one in Nikola Tesla’s lab, but I won’t spoil it).

In fact other users that have played the game report over social media and forums times varying between eight and even as long as fifteen hours (for example, one of the first players to achieve the platinum trophy took about nine hours to complete his first playthrough, even if he had to go back to find some collectibles afterwards), if you spend a lot of time getting immersed in the beautiful world, look at everything there’s to look at, and if you die a reasonable amount of times.

That said, no more room for rumors. If you run through the game with full sails, without being sidetracked by story and flavor elements (again, I definitely don’t advise it, but to each his own), and you’re much better at shooters than I am, this is how fast you can make it.

I'll just post the link here AGAIN,since it was so conveniently passed over....again surprise,surprise...

Nothing I linked to provides any commentary about getting a platinum that I've seen (since I haven't spoiled the game for myself) so I didn't mention it. I simply linked to a play through.

                        Re: The Order: 1886

I've been waiting for this game since day one. The more I seen the more I got excited
I don't see how many hours the game is or multiplayer would make people not get a game. Maybe I'm old. I remember my nintendo days beating games in under an hour, and then replaying them and still having fun. The Evil Within has a "beat the game under 5 hours" trophy. I'm on chapter 9 and on hour 9. Even grand theft auto v can be beat in under 7 hours. No one complained about that.
I like to get into the world that's presented to me. Explore everything and look for hidden rooms or secrets.
With multiplayer, most of that seems like the same thing. Go in and kill each other with the games characters. Saying that, this game could of had a werewolf/ human horde mode and even co-op story mode would be nice, but I'm not going to be like "What? none of these? I'm not getting it then." To me campaign is what's important.
Anyway almost 4 days until this game comes out !

                          Well....I'm old lol

And yeah I also remember NES (Intellivision etc..) and spending hours upon hours playing certain games.
Difference was .. I didn't pay for them then.
I simply haven't seen a full priced game so far for me. And that's not just based on length but substance and gameplay. That could change before release as more info comes out. We'll see.

However.. everyone's different so some don't care while some do.
I usually try and get all collectables etc.. which makes the game last longer.

And online MP is nowhere on my radar. Online for games other than sports could go away and I wouldn't care one bit.
I'm sure I'll eventually get the game but when I feel, for ME, the price justifies it,

For those grabbing it I hope you have fun and enjoy it.
Certainly can't wait to hear some OS impressions.

I have no issue with a five hour game if it's a quality product. If you can make a lasting experience in that time, so be it. That said, if you also push day one DLC out with a five hour game, then I can see the anger.

I don't either. Uncharted 1 would be a fairly similarly shortened game if the same play style was applied and I've played through that one two times in the short amount of time I've had it. As long as the time spent with the game is convincing and holds that same devotion to character that TLOU and Uncharted is known for then I'm fulling expecting another series to follow this one.

I agree with both of you guys, I have no issue with the length of the game. I watched a few of the missions and the reason I am not buying until a price drop is:
