They can't get rid of the hard drive especially since the ps3 will have one and the graphics on both systems will be just about the same. If they took out the hard drive it would be the death sentence for the xbox.

Are you sure the PS3 will have one though? I recall reading an article that said they weren't sure yet. It was also stated that IF the PS3 had a HD, then Xbox Next would most likely follow suit and do the same.

they make pretty small hard drives (see all the MP3 players out there), so this doesn't kill a HD, just makes it less likely. MS probably doesn't want to eat a lot of money per hardware xbox

yeah but i heard on somewhere that they may not put in a hard drive, i also heard that they you may not be able to play xbox 1 games on xbox 2. These are just rumors though.

Interesting stuff, If i'm the folks at MS i'd release the Xbox-next a few months (up to 6 months) before the PS3. Why you ask? Well because most of the time when the first console from a new generation is released they tend to get the market share much quicker than the console that comes out second.

Just look at what happened with the X-Box. It has a huge hardcore gamer following but it STILL hasn't toppled PS2 in terms of marketshare and popularity. Tho the whole XBL feature has made the race very close in the last year.

As far as HD support goes...I think that it would be a death knell for them to take it out and i'm hoping that it's just a rumour as i'm strongly thinking of purchasing Xbox-next. If it doesn't have HD support and PS3 does. Well you know where my money is going.
